Default Why Lil Romeo Never Became The Next Bow Wow

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uE0XaTSnjQ

Quote:
Master P, one of hip-hop's most successful and respected entrepreneurs, went above and beyond to ensure that his son Romeo Miller had the best life possible. Romeo, on the other hand, was not happy and accused his father of defrauding him of the money he was due. At least that's how the story was initially presented. In one interview, reflecting on his children, Master P said, “You can’t blame their life because I started to do right. I don’t want to hear that head start stuff because that is just an excuse.”

When you get the general picture in music kid stars are usually the targets of a company with dollar signs in their eyes because they want to attract the younger audience. With Lil Romeo they wanted him to be a carbon copy of Bow Wow because at the time Bow Wow "Lil Bow Wow at the time" was huge because he was the one responsible for the rise of child and teen rap artists of the 2000's. But why I think Lil Romeo never made it big as a rap artist was because not many people knew about his albums. I didn't even know who he was until I heard one of his songs on The Proud Family soundtrack. So what I think happened to Lil Romeo was that just because Master P. was his father they wanted to market Lil Romeo like his father but they wouldn't let him. As you know when young rap artists were starting out they had the parents be managers and controlling their careers. Another young rap star that also became a one-hit wonder was Lil Mama and she released her debut album Voice Of The Young People and she was seen on BET promoting her singles on their music video shows but like Lil Romeo she faded out of the music industry and she got famous because her dad owned her record label. But as for Lil Romeo I think now that he's grown up he now wants to produce albums rather than be a rap artist
