Hee Haw in urban areas and other areas outside the South - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

How did stations outside the Southern United States handled the Hee Haw syndicated package? Basically, markets were outside of Hee Haw's audience demographics? If so, did they air it at a decent time, or did it air very late at night? Otherwise, Hee Haw the South and parts of the Midwest, Hee Haw would commonly air on Saturday nights at 7 eastern/6 central (on any of the big three networks or independent depending on the channel).

For many years in Pittsburgh, it occupied the 7 pm Saturday slot. Hee Haw was a top 20 show on the network, so I don't think it occupied some special southern/rural niche.

I'm from the south and we loved it. DH, a Yankee, said "he never got it".

I used to watch it regularly on Sunday afternoons, and I'm solidly in the North in a predominantly urban area.
