I can't believe I did not originally mention The Mary Tyler Moore openings and both versions of the song. If I had to pick the best opening of all it would be The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Outstanding in every way.

I've probably mentioned this somewhere else on this board. "Newhart" might have overstayed its welcome by a few seasons, but it really had a great opening and theme.

That Girl--even though it was just a cheap TV show, the music and opening sequences always felt to me like a big budget 1960s musical. It also captured that perfect time in the 1960s when mod and the Youthquake were at its peak.

Taxi--love the laid back, groovy music and how simple the opening is. No corny freeze frames or anything to date the show.

Married with Children--I didn't realize how much I really liked this until I started watching a terrible syndicated version without Love and Marriage.

Night Court/Barney Miller--love the music, composed by the same guy.

Drew Carey Show--loved all the different versions (Moon Over Parma, Cleveland Rocks, Five O'Clock World)
