What are the most iconic motels featured in the show? Are there any of them that you would stay at? Are there any that creep you out and you would not stay at? which ones are still in business?
The motels from the Kay Beeman update always stand out to me. and no I would not stay at them. Both are in Ontario near the lake. One was the beach motor inn and the other was the red rose motel. they both appear to be open now. I also think of one local to where I live at. the lake mead lodge from the steven cox segment. that is no longer in service. I think it is boarded up now. The Gold Strike Casino where Cox was arrested is now the Hoover Dam Casino. If you want to stay near Lake Mead National Recreation area and away from the strip but still gamble, this might be a place to stay at. it looks ok and there is great hiking, hoover dam, and fun outdoor activity nearby. Another creepy motel that forever stands out is the Wilhite motel, later known as the Blue Water Inn in Panama City from the Pamela June Ray segment. I think that one is abandoned now, but not sure. You can still find it on google maps and it looks creepy. I drove by it without even knowing that I did a few years ago. I would stay at the General Wayne Inn and have thought about staying on the Queen Mary. Bullocks Deadwood is another one I plan to visit. |

The Wilhite is long torn down and replaced by a high rise condo. I’m sort of local.

I can't find the name, but the rundown hotel from the Neal Jennings segment (where Stephnie Weir makes her debut).

I was wondering about that. It shows a picture of it on google maps and says it is permanently closed. I was last there in September of 2021 on a trip to Tyndall AFB. I didn't recognize a lot of things at Tyndall after the hurricane.

For those of us older locals, PCB is almost unrecognizable. All the mom and pops are gone, replaced by high rises. The last one(Peeks) was torn down last year. All of the local landmarks are gone.

sad to hear that. I've only been there twice. that was my first temporary duty assignment back in 2007. I have some great memories there with my Air Force friends, and also had a great time with the locals back then. in 2021 it was unrecognizable compared to my trip 14 years before that.

As for hotels, the old Hilton (now Marriott) in Mobile where Gail Delano was found is local. I actually worked at that hotel one summer during my college years. The director of sales stated that he worked there at the time and remembered the incident. |
