So, here's what I'm thinking in regards to season 7 of The Brady Bunch. ABC picks the show up for one final season of 22 episodes (in the 1975-1976 season). Sherwood Schwartz fired Robert Reed but then Florence Henderson and Ann B. Davis walked unless he rehired him. Schwartz decided to make a compromise. He'd have Reed in 11 of the 22 episodes, placed throughout the season. That way, he only had to deal with him half the time. As a result, he's still only billed as a "Special Guest Star". Tony Randall becomes a regular. Barry Williams makes more guest appearances. Marcia goes to college but either goes to a local college and stays at home, or she just visits way more often than Greg and is in the majority of the episodes. The big change is that the show is shot in front of a live studio audience now. Don Knotts is still a regular as Fred Brady even though he and Alice live in their own house down the street. As a result, he's not featured in every episode but is billed for them all.

I'll work on some episodes later. I have a couple ideas for the first few episodes. And then after I post them, the two other showrunners (Charles Knox and stevea) can add their episode descriptions, too.
Sounds like a plan.

I'm wondering if they could take another trip to open the season, but I have no idea where. If the trip works, the studio audience could wait tiil they return.

Maybe Disney World in Orlando, Florida or Japan?

I like that Japan idea.

It'll be hard to beat Mike pulling out the Yogi Bear poster for his clients, though.

Are you talking about a 3-part story like the Grand Canyon and Hawaii episodes?

My plan for the start of the season involves Marcia's first day at the dorm and Mike returning home from his year away to discover so many things have changed since he left. So, if we squeeze in the vacation episodes first, I don't want Mike there. I'm thinking Carol goes to Mike to spend their anniversary together. We only see her at the beginning of the episode as she prepares to and then ultimately leaves. Perhaps Fred and Alice win a trip to Japan for some reason and take the Brady kids with them. I don't know what the story could be once they're there. You guys can figure that out. And then I'll come back with the next episodes (the ones I mentioned above). Plus, I have a couple of fun episode ideas in mind. One of which features Freddie Prinze as himself and Jan is an obsessive fan who constantly gets on his nerves. The episode will be titled "Chico and the Jan".

Right I had something like GC and Hawaii in mind, but the trip wouldn't have to lead off the season. Maybe the kids get into some kind of spy adventure while in Japan. I'm not sure what would prompt the trip there, though. Maybe a lame idea.

Mike's business Firm wins the bid to design an Asian auto plant in America, so he along with his family are invited to Japan on a research assignment. On vaction in Japan, the Brady Kids find out that they are a hit music sensation and have to solve a mystery on why they have not received any album royalties, while having to get ready for a live sold out concert. Greg falls in love with a beautiful Geisha, who is helping him write and translate a new song. Oliver gets lost in Tokyo and learns how to make sushi, Fred (Don Knotts) wrestles an angry Sumo warrior, while Carol and Alice get a Japanese makeover.

I will try to post some episodes tomorrow. I know I've not been very vocal here this week, but my aunt died on Sunday and so I've been dealing with that with my family. So, I haven't had a lot of time to think up and write the episode descriptions. I am looking forward, however, to getting to it.

Okay, here's the start of season 7

The Brady Bunch
Season 7: 1975 - 1976

Mike Brady ... Robert Reed (11 of 22)
Carol Brady ... Florence Henderson
Alice Brady ... Ann B. Davis
Tony Brady ... Tony Randall
Fred Brady ... Don Knotts
Marcia Brady ... Maureen McCormick
Peter Brady ... Christopher Knight
Jan Brady ... Eve Plumb
Bobby Brady ... Mike Lookinland
Cindy Brady ... Susan Olsen
Oliver Brady ... Robbie Rist

Recurring:
Greg Brady ... Barry Williams
Jackie, Marcia's Dormmate ... Yet to Be Cast (any ideas?)

#142: School Days
While Carol has joined Mike out of state for their wedding anniversary, Marcia is starting college. She moves into the dorm and meets her roommate, Jackie. Things are overwhelming for Marcia and she’s not sure she likes her new life. Meanwhile, Cindy and Bobby each compete to impress their new teacher.

Florence Henderson only appears in the opening scene.

#143: Chico and the Jan
Chico and the Man star Freddie Prinze is in town for his stand-up act and Jan is a huge fan of his. The night before he’s to perform, Prinze goes to the grocery store, wearing a fake beard and a wig but Jan, who’s working as a cashier can see right through his disguise. She ends up following him around and annoying him.

#144: Homecoming
Mike’s year away is finally over and the head of the household returns to stay. However, he’s feeling down when he notices how well things have gone without him and how the family doesn’t seem to need him around anymore.

#145: The Birds and the Bradys
Oliver accidentally walks in on Marcia’s dormmate, Jackie naked when she takes a shower at the Brady house. This makes him curious. With Carol out of town for the weekend, it’s up to Mike, Fred and Tony to sit the young Brady down and tell him about the birds and the bees.

Florence Henderson is only in the opening scene.

#146: Greg the Family Man
Greg returns home for a visit to tell his family that he’s in love and going to be married. This shocks Mike, Carol and the rest. Especially when they discover Greg’s bride-to-be is a mother to two young kids. In the end, Greg’s finance leaves him when the father of her children returns wanting her back.

#147: KISS Me, You Fool!
Guest star Peter Criss; Barry Williams appears in this episode. KISS fan Bobby wins a radio contest and gets tickets to a concert; now, who's going to take him? Eventually Greg. Included in the deal is a backstage meet of Peter Criss, who auditions his new song, "Beth," for them. Meanwhile, since the kids are getting older, Carol considers dabbling in real estate.

A former poster suggests Hope Schwartz Juber, "Greggy's" former girlfriend Rachel (who throws him over when he doesn't get her the cheerleader gig), for the part; maybe her name could be changed.

He suggests Marcia could start out with her as an enemy, but they end up friends by the end of the episode. Maybe if so, the details of #142 could be slightly altered to include that.

#148 Part 1 of 2. Hedging on the Pledging.
Barry Williams appears in these episodes. A fraternity stunt gone wrong lands pledge Greg in the ER; later, Carol and Mike nervously await news.

#149 Part 2 of 2. Hedging on the Pledging. A nurse informs Carol and Mike that Greg will need surgery; afterward, a groggy Greg swears off fraternity life. Meanwhile, left to his own devices, Bobby tries magazine remedies to cure Oliver's snoring.
