I heard that Robert Reed would not have been in the real sixth season. So I've worked that into my storyline. If I never heard that, then I wouldn't take him off the show.
-Mike leaves for a one year job out of the country. Greg is away at college, but guest stars in a few episodes. Fred Brady, Mike's goofy brother moves in with the Bradys to watch after them while Mike is away. Cousin Oliver's parents have died and he gets adopted during the season. The Brady Bunch Season Six: 1974-1975 Starring: Florence Henderson as Carol Brady Don Knotts as Fred Brady (Mike's Brother) Ann B. Davis as Alice Nelson Maureen McCormick as Marcia Brady Christopher Knight as Peter Brady Eve Plum as Jan Brady Mike Lookinland as Bobby Brady Susan Olsen as Cindy Brady Robbie Rist as Oliver Brady (He's been adopted!) Guest Starring: (In Various Episodes) Robert Reed as Mike Brady Barry Williams as Greg Brady Allen Melvin as Sam, the Butcher Tony Randall as Tony Brady #118. "Changes in the Brady Bunch" With Greg already moved out of the house and attending college, the Brady house gets a tad bigger. Marcia moves into the attic bedroom. Meanwhile, Mike and Carol console Cousin Oliver who's parents have been dead for a month now. Mike gets a job offer that would take him out of the country. NOTE: Robert Reed guest stars in this episode. Robbie Rist is now in the opening credits and so is Don Knotts, even though he doesn't debut until the third episode this season. #119. "So Long, Mike Brady" While the Brady kids all start school, Mike has to make a decision about his future. He's gotten a job offer, which would take him out of the country for one year. No one thinks he will take it and aren't worried. It's once Mike tells the family that he is taking the job that they all realize he'll be gone for a year. Carol thinks (via musical montage) of her five years with Mike (in flash backs). NOTE: This is Robert Reed's last episode. Although his character (not seen) is always calling the family on the phone and sending post cards. #120. "Take It Like a Brady" With Mike gone, Carol and the family miss him terribly. Not long after, Mike's goofy brother, Fred comes to live with them. He insists that while Mike is away, he live with them to help take care of them. He moves into Mike's old den. The problem comes when Fred tries too hard to be the head of the house, it drives everyone crazy. NOTE: This is Don Knotts' first episode. #121. "Adventures of the Dogs and Cat" Fred decides to buy Bobby a dog, even though Carol doesn't want a new pet in the family. Cindy and Oliver find a stray dog and keep him in secret. Alice, meanwhile, finds a stray cat and secretly keeps him in her room. Jan has a meeting with the student council, which includes the groovy boy she digs. The dogs and cat find eachother and chaos ensues, destroying the meeting. #122. "The Brady-fication of Cousin Oliver" Carol calls Mike about poor cousin Oliver, feeling like he doesn't have a real family anymore (with his parents dead). Together, Carol and (an absent) Mike decide to adopt Oliver. The Bradys throw a party celebrating Oliver officially becoming a Brady. Meanwhile, Alice is convinced Sam is going to propose to her. Note: Finally, Cousin Oliver is now Oliver Brady. #123. "Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brady?" After a series of misunderstandings, Cindy, Bobby and Oliver think that Carol and Fred have fallen in love and plan to get married. Greg returns home for a visit to break up the wedding after recieving a frantic phone call from the kids. Meanwhile, Marcia gets picked on when she, a senior, takes a freshman to the school dance. Note: This is Barry Williams' first guest appearance in the sixth season. #124. "And Eve Plum as Jan" While Alice goes away for a week, Jan takes over her housekeeper duties. However, Jan becomes a major pain in the butt about the job. Meanwhile, Peter goes to Marcia for advice on how to win the love of a girl who thinks he's a creep. #125. "Keep Quiet, Fred Brady" Fred and Sam become best friends, which upsets Alice because he has no time to spend with her. Sam reveals to Fred that he's planning on asking Alice to marry him but not to tell her. Fred then has the tough task of keeping his mouth shut. Meanwhile, Marcia becomes worried that she won't get into a good college and annoys her brothers and sisters about it. Note: As of this episode, Sam and Alice are engaged to be married. #126. "The Brady Five" With Greg away at college, Marcia, Peter, Jan, Cindy and Bobby wonder what they're going to do with their singing group. Oliver wants to be the sixth member but he has no talent for singing or the choreography. Meanwhile, Carol tries to set Fred up on a date with a friend of her's, but Fred's nerves cause troubles. Note: This is the final episode dealing with the Brady kids' singing group. #127. "Fred Brady, Actor" After Fred is fired from his job, he mopes around the Brady house. To make things worse, Peter, Jan and Bobby all get after school jobs. Fred feels useless. Oliver decides to build up Fred’s confidence. It works, and Fred decides he’s going to become an actor. However… he can’t act. Meanwhile, Carol has to deal with Marcia’s boyfriend’s father who doesn’t think Marcia is right for his son. #128. "Surprise Birthday Party" Marcia, Peter, Jan, Cindy, Bobby and Oliver decide to throw a surprise birthday party for Alice. To be sure a keep it a surprise, they don’t tell Fred. Coincidently, it’s also Fred’s birthday. He’s on to them sneaking around and is convinced they’re throwing him a party. Meanwhile, Carol visits Greg at college, which ends up being one embarrassing moment for Greg after another. Note: This is Barry Williams’ second guest appearance in the sixth season. #129. "Peter Doesn’t Have a Clue" Peter starts dating a groovy chick at school, only to find out she had lost a bet. When Peter finds out, he decides to play a terrible prank on her, only to feel sorry about it afterwards. Meanwhile, when Oliver starts hero worshiping Fred, it goes to his head. But when a bully picks on Fred in front of Oliver, he has to put on the act that he’s not scared. Note: It was after this episode that ABC decided to end “The Brady Bunch” after this season. Some changes were to be made, however, before the finale. #130. "Say Hello to Uncle Tony" Fred gets jealous when his brother Tony Brady visit’s the family and they’re all so glad to see the most successful Brady. However, Tony isn’t very happy… he lost his business. Meanwhile, Cindy has a crush on a groovy boy at school, however, Carol feels she is too young to be going steady. Note: Tony Randall plays double duty, as he portrays Felix Unger in “The Odd Couple” as well as the recurring role of Tony Brady on “The Brady Bunch.” Also, as of this episode, Uncle Tony goes to work for Sam the Butcher. #131. "Twelve Angry Bradys" A neighbor of the Brady’s was found with their newspaper in her hands on their front porch. Naturally, Fred assumes that the woman was in the act of stealing the paper. So, Carol, Fred, Alice, Sam, Tony, Marcia, Peter, Jan, Bobby, Cindy, Oliver and a visiting Greg serve as a jury in their home. Every one finds the woman guilty. Everyone except for Oliver, that is. Oliver has to convince his family that the woman was not stealing their paper. Note: Technically, there are not 12 Bradys in the jury. It seems like a lot of sitcoms had an episode about this, so why not The Brady Bunch? This is Barry Williams’ third guest appearance in the sixth season. I'll do some more later. |

A forgotten thread. It was interesting. I guess we'll assume ABC cancelled it after 14 episodes.
There aren't any Bobby-centered episodes. Maybe Joe Namath could re-appear and try to sell him a health plan. |
