Why did it take so long for Bebe Neuwirth to be promoted to series regular status
She shows up more and more from Season 6 to Season 9. And Season 7 in particular, it seems like she appeared in at least more than half of the episodes. And during this time frame, she would win two Emmys for her work on Cheers. However, she isn't officially promoted as regular until I believe the 11th (and ultimately final) season. And naturally, Bebe abruptly leaves in order to go back to Broadway.
