"Bob ♥ Abishola" To End with Season 5
"Bob ♥ Abishola" to End with Season 5 on CBS; Series Finale Date Set
by Nellie Andreeva November 29, 2023 It’s official — the upcoming fifth season of CBS‘ comedy series "Bob ♥ Abishola" will be its last. The series finale will air Monday, May 13, the network said Wednesday. “We are so proud to call Bob ♥ Abishola a CBS comedy as it helped establish a new generation of programming at the Network,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “This series expertly showcased a family love story and workplace comedy about the immigrant experience with heartfelt humor and emotion while also authentically portraying Nigerian culture. It’s a testament to the incomparable Chuck Lorre, the amazing creative team led by Al Higgins, Gina Yashere and Matt Ross, and the talents of Billy Gardell, Folake Olowofoyeku and the entire cast for making this show and its characters come to life and resonate with viewers. We plan to celebrate it this spring and give fans the most amazing episodes to remember it by.” https://deadline.com/2023/11/bob-hea...te-1235642739/ |

At least this and Young Sheldon aren't going to go on for 12 years or more like The Big Bang Theory.

Chuck Lorre Weighs In on the End of "Bob ♥ Abishola"
by Ryan Schwartz Dec. 1, 2023 During an appearance on The Hollywood Reporter’s TV’s Top 5 podcast, Chuck Lorre seems less at peace with CBS’ choice to end "Bob ♥ Abishola" after Season 5. “I think there are so many more stories to tell,” he says. “The initial motivation for that [show] was a romance wrapped around a story of immigrants who make America great — that extraordinary, courageous effort that is made by millions of people every year who find their way in this country. I don’t necessarily feel like we were done, but that was not my call.” Acknowledging the news that 11 out of 13 series regulars were bumped to recurring for the final 13 episodes, Lorre explains, “There were fiscal restraints imposed on the show. In order to continue making the show, the cost of making it had to be reined in, and that was the only way to do that.” “It’s not my call,” the EP reiterates. “I’m really grateful for the run that we’ve had. Five years has been terrific.” https://tvline.com/news/young-sheldo...bs-1235091495/ |

I don't know about emotional. It does tie up some loose threads.
