Showtime Picks Up "Uncoupled"
"Uncoupled" Picked Up by Showtime for Season 2 Following Netflix Cancellation as Part of New Content Strategy
by Nellie Andreeva Feb. 10, 2023 "Uncoupled", has been saved. I hear Showtime is picking up Season 2 (and potentially beyond) of the comedy series, from creator Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman, a couple weeks after the MTV Entertainment Studios-produced show was canceled by Netflix. At the premium network, soon to be renamed Paramount+ with Showtime, "Uncoupled" is designed to fit into one the three main content lanes recently outlined by new Showtime boss Chris McCarthy, “Metro Cultures”, which spans “culturally diverse takes” like "The L Word" and "The Chi". https://deadline.com/2023/02/uncoupl...gy-1235256336/ |

Showtime Not Going Forward with "Uncoupled" after Rescuing It from Netflix
by Nellie Andreeva March 21, 2024 "Uncoupled" is not getting saved after all. Showtime has decided not to proceed with Season 2 of the comedy series, from Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman, Deadline has learned. A rep for the network could not be reached for comment. The reversal comes a little over a year after Showtime stepped in to pick it up following its cancellation by Netflix after one season. Showtime’s creative team was to put the project into redevelopment to tailor it to the network’s sensibilities, and the decision not to do a second season came after months of work on that, sources said. https://deadline.com/2024/03/uncoupl...me-1235864464/ |

"Uncoupled" Actors React to Show’s Cancellation
by Armando Tinoco March 23, 2024 Following Showtime‘s decision not to proceed with a new season of "Uncoupled" after Netflix‘s cancellation, the series’ cast is breaking their silence. Jai Rodriguez, who played Jonathan #2, took to social media to share his thoughts about the show getting canceled for good. “Welp, guess I’m not going to NYC in May to shoot,” Rodriguez posted on Instagram Stories. Dan Amboyer, who played Harris’s love interest, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram. “Sad that there won’t be a season 2 of Uncoupled after all,” Amboyer posted. “Thankful for my experience, would have loved to see this story go on. Had my eyes set on it as soon as I heard about it, originally. One of my favorite projects (to be a small part of)—and a meaningful moment for me to finally play a gay role on screen. Magic people, master creators. Can’t wait to see what they cook up next.” Nic Rouleau, who played Tyler Hawkins, replied to Amboyer’s post, “We will always have Season 1 – so special!!” https://deadline.com/2024/03/uncoupl...on-1235866865/ |
