Priscilla if I'm not mistaken, has since claimed that she didn't really enjoy her time on Three's Company and if she could, she would've left after her first year, but the powers that be wouldn't let her out of her contract. So naturally, she stayed for the remaining three years of the show.
But as a worst case scenario, she was actually able to leave, where would the show go from there? Would they have for example, simply brought in another blonde-haired girl as the third roommate to keep the formula going? |

This obviously would have changed the dynamics and possibly killed the show: Make the next roommate a male. Have Jack share a room with another guy. I think it would have been funny to have Jack squabbling about borrowed clothing, using up the shaving cream and stealing each others dates.
We know John Ritter would have left the show as he had assumed that TC was his show after 3 years. |

The revolving door of roommates would've taken a toll in the ratings and probably cancel the show without a seventh season.

Besides the cheezy scripts I hated how the show exclusively seemed to revolve around Jack. It also was ridiculous an emergency room nurse, flower shop manager, and restaurant owner needed to all share a bedroom and apartment. In the beginning, Jack had no job and was going to cooking school. |

The show probably would have been cancelled after season 6 if she left. Priscilla Barnes said in the E True Hollywood story that she wanted out shortly after she arrived. If the network went along with her request to leave, they probably would have come to an agreement, such as staying through the end of season 6 or close to it.
As some people mentioned above, at that point the show had several cast changes, arguably too many. That is not always healthy for a show. A change here and there is fine, but in less than 12 months there were three different blonde roommates. It goes without mentioning, the Ropers and Lana were long gone by season 6. I would argue that the Ropers still had stories to tell in the series. They could easily have stayed on another season or two if they hadn’t been offered their own show. In all likelihood, they would have moved ahead with John’s spinoff in place of season 7 of Three’s Company if Priscilla left. The last few episodes of season 6 could have been dedicated to opening the restaurant. That aside, I’ve always thought that season 7 would have been the perfect conclusion to the series. Jack finally gets his own restaurant after years of hard work and struggle in the early seasons of TC. Janet was much more confident in herself in season 7 and embraced the excess of the 80s in positive ways. That’s where the show should have ended. They didn’t really need to be roommates any longer in season 8. Still, they could have used the end of season 6 to give Jack his restaurant if Priscilla wanted to leave. |

Yeah the fact that they still had to live together and Jack still had to pretend to be gav is ridiculous. And that the girls never had any interest in hooking up with Jack. They were all such prudes. Lol were the girls getting any sex??? Lol

I'm guessing, this is why people have argued that Three's Company was never really the same ("quality"-wise) after Chrissy left. You could always within reason, believe that a naive girl like Chrissy Snow couldn't take care of herself. You could even buy the notion of Cindy (since she was much younger than everybody else) needing Jack and Janet to keep her company (no pun intended). |
