Fred Dryer is best known as Det. Sgt. Richard "Rick" Hunter in the 1980s television series Hunter and for his NFL and College Football Career. After playing for the San Diego State University Aztec’s, Fred joined the NFL and played for the New York Giants (1969 - 1971), and the L.A. Rams (1972 - 1981). Dryer played in Super Bowl XIV when the Rams met the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame, San Diego State University Aztec Hall of Fame, and San Diego Sports Hall of Fame.

Dryer also starred in the action-thriller movie Death Before Dishonor as Gunnery Sergeant Burns, the TV series Land's End as Mike Land, and was featured in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D as evil HYDRA leader, Octavian Bloom.
