http://lebeauleblog.com/2012/09/08/w...to-helen-hunt/

Quote:
In 2001, Hunt dodged a bullet. She had filmed a scene for Paul Reiser’s comedy, One Night at McCools. But her scene was cut. One Night was a critical and commercial flop.

But Hunt’s luck ran out when she appeared in Curse of the Jade Scorpion.

Jade Scorpion was a lesser Woody Allen film starring Allen, Hunt and Dan Aykroyd. It was in fact the most expensive film of Woody Allen’s career. But reviews were lukewarm and the movie bombed at the box office.

Around this time, Hunt remarried to TV producer, Matthew Carnahan. Hunt’s output as an actress greatly slowed down as the couple started a family. They had a daughter in 2004.

Considering the fact that Hunt had been steadily working since she was a child, the decision to scale back her career is perfectly understandable. She already had more awards that any reasonable person could ever dream of. She was in the rare position of being able to have it all.

Hunt still works occasionally. She recently directed an episode of Californication. And has appeared in movies like Bobby, Soul Surfer and The Sessions. She also directed her first feature film, 2008′s Then She Found Me.

So what the hell happened? Helen Hunt started working as a child, paid her dues for decades, succeeded beyond anyone’s wildest imagination and then decided to raise a family. Around here, that’s what we call a happy ending.

Helen has had a highly successful career and she earned a fortune from Mad About You, so it is understandable why she decided to scale back from working once she started a family.

Helen Hunt has a movie coming out called The Sessions where she plays a sex therapist and yes guys there there is nudity. If you Google the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) you will see some nice pictures of her at the premiere. There is already already Oscar buzz on her performance.

Thanks for the info! Although I'm not interested at all in the nudity, it's nice to see that she's still acting. I always thought she was really good in whatever she did even though I could never get into Mad About You no matter how hard I tried.

While we're on the subject, "what the heck happened to Paul Reiser's career"!?

I just read the article in its entirety. I learned a lot of interesting things. However, there is one thing that I have some question about. According to this report, her daughter is her only child. I have heard from at least two sources that she also has or, at one time had, a son named Mike. Does anyone here know the reality of this situation?

Mike Hunt?! My god, that's a horrible name.

She does have a step-son named Emmett Carnahan.

Also: I've heard she's incredibly mean to her inferiors. I've heard it enough times that I believe it.

In the first place, I find it very hard to picture Helen Hunt being mean to anyone. On top of that, do you know, is her step-son from her ex-husband or from the man that she lived with and who fathered her daughter?

David Berg, Jay Leno's producer, says Helen Hunt refused to appear on the Tonight Show for 14 years because a producer "gently critiqued her performance". Based on that incident, News.com.au called her "the biggest diva".

And you can read what a worker on the Culver Studios lot says in this very thread.

Emmitt is her step-son from her second partnership, the child of producer Matthew Carnahan. (They recently split).

Yesterday, I read in its entirely the article attached to this post. I found it very interesting. The main reason that I read the article is that Helen Hunt has been my favorite actress ever since "Mad About You" first came on the air! I am really hoping that they make an updated version!

Inside Helen Hunt's Quiet Life Today After Stepping Back From Hollywood

Helen Hunt may not be lighting up Hollywood's marquee like before, but don't think for a second that the "Twister" actor has disappeared completely.
