Default One weird fact connects Halloween (1978) and Mama's Family

https://www.metv.com/stories/one-wei...d-mamas-family

Mama's in the house. But Michael Myers is, too!

There are several videos on youtube that walk down that street. If my memory is correct, the hedges where Michael is standing behind when the girls walk home from school are at the edge of Mama's house.
However its sad the original Mama's House is long forgotten from the NBC years. Syndication erased that house so that all episodes of Mamas Family would show the same house in the beginning.

You can still find all 3 houses used for the show on Google, and you can even locate them on Google Earth and zoom in on them. There were actually 2 houses used for the NBC era, one for the opening and closing of the show and one for the few times they were out in the yard. The one that was used for when they were in the yard, like in Mama for Mayor, has also been used on various commercials.

Thats right. That means there were actually 3 houses including the opening credits on the NBC years (before syndication).
I was in Pasadena many years ago in 2000 and I missed out walking past these epic houses.
Someone posted once that opening credits for the NBC years was actually a house in Missouri. It would be incredible if anyone could find it today because its almost lost unless you own the DVD.

I think that's right, it's in Missouri... But I notice when you're looking out the door of the NBC house, it's fashioned much more similar to THAT one. But when they are outside, the house looks completely different. I do know the house in Mama for Mayor was in a Dell computer commercial once.

Good point. Many if not most people would not know that when they watch Mama For Mayor thinking the house looks so different than the opening credits. But it did look similar to the opening credits when it was on TV at the time.

LOL I was very observant as a kid, and when I watched Mama for Mayor for the first time, after I'd only seen the new house edited over all the episodes, and didn't know the older houses existed, I didn't know what the hell was going on when they went out in the yard in that episode, I thought that is in NO WAY Mama's house!!! I was like "Where are Mama's flamingos? and familair white porch railing lol" yet at the end of the episode it was back to normal lol

Yes I was the same way. I would always try and get a glimpse of the house in Mama Learns To Drive. I had no idea what people were talking about when another house was mentioned until you buy the DVD.

OMG me too in the Mama learning to drive episode! lol But I noticed Fran's car was parked across the street, so I assumed it was Iola's house we were seeing lol

In the episode where Mama buys a car, they are standing in front of the house used for the NBC episodes, but, again that was before I knew about that house, so I assumed they were standing on the other side of the street again lol
