USA orders up 'Burn Notice' prequel - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

USA is capitalizing on the success of "Burn Notice" by ordering a telepic that will act as a prequel to the series.
Starring Bruce Campbell, the pic will follow the last assignment of his character, Sam Axe, as a Navy SEAL before his retirement. No other members of the show's cast have been confirmed yet.

Announcement was made by USA original programming topper Jeff Wachtel at Comic-Con in San Diego.

Fox Television Studios will produce. Shooting will take place in Latin America and is set to begin in a few months, between seasons four and five of the series. "Burn Notice" is currently shooting season four, which recently premiered.

No word on whether creator Matt Nix, who has an overall deal at Fox Television Studios, will write or direct.

"Burn Notice" remains cable's No. 1 show in the 18-49 demo.
