Does anyone know the NAME OF THE CHARACTER that was played by Barbara Eden? She was a young Manicurist who arrived on a bus and walked straight to Floyds shop and reached an agreement with him that allowed her to set up business in his Barber Shop. The episode,(#48), first aired in the second season Jan 22, 1962

That character's name was Ellen Brown. She was in Mayberry looking for a "friendly town" to live in after her breakup with her fiancee, whose name was Pierre. He owned the shop where she had worked previously.
And by the way, watching Barbara Eden walk down the street, away from the camera, is the highlight of my week whenever I see that episode...... |

Andy speaking to Ellen: "Nature's been good to you. I mean real, real, real good. I-I can't remember when I've seen nature spend as much time on any one person."

This is one of my favorite episodes. A classic. Barbara is so beautiful in this episode. Still is today.

I liked Andy's earlier persona on the show, the broad Southern accent really rings true, folks my age and older actually still talk that way in more personal settings among old friends and family.
