"The Bachelor" & "Bachelor in Paradise" Renewed at ABC

"The Bachelor" and "Bachelor in Paradise" have earned the coveted renewal rose.

ABC announced Tuesday that both series will be returning to the network for another installment. This marks Season 28 for "The Bachelor" and Season 9 for "Bachelor in Paradise".

ABC is finally giving senior men and women another shot at love.

The network has officially announced the long-awaited new iteration of "The Bachelor" franchise, "The Golden Bachelor". The spinoff series will premiere this fall on Monday nights, following "Dancing with the Stars".

An exact premiere date has yet to be announced.

Why did they choose to create The Golden Bachelor? This show sounds very weird and how are single seniors supposed to find new crushes? Because when you get in your golden years "around 70-80" and you get elderly you form friendships rather than think about having another crush because I believe when you get elderly the only crush you love is your one and only. I can see this reality show lasting one season then ABC will cancel it because The Golden Bachelor sounds like an odd concept to me. I cannot figure out how The Bachelor franchise is still surviving even with Chris Harrison gone but I can bet The Golden Bachelor will get weak ratings when it debuts on ABC

I'm curious as to who the contestants are going to be on "The Golden Bachelor". Will it be women over the age of 50 or will it feature women less than half his age? Maybe both?

Also, I'm surprised they haven't done a Gay/Lesbian version considering how long The Bachelor/Bachelorette has been on.
