Why did Jennifer Love Hewitt's career go downhill?

She was an IT girl back in the day, starring in the box office smash I Know What You Did Last Summer and the television hit show Party of Five. Her co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar did pretty well with her career, so what went wrong with JLH?

When Jennifer Love Hewitt made her debut as Love Hewitt at 10 years old on the show Kids Incorporated this proved that we would see a future star that would venture on to many different projects and if it wasn't for Kids Incorporated Love would've never been on the road to stardom and based on that show alone Love Hewitt went on to be a commercial star and appeared in commercials for LA Gear Chex cereal and Barbie dolls in which she garnered more success as a commercial star and released her debut album Love Songs in Japan but after Kids Incorporated ended it's run Love got small parts in TV movies. But it was the movie Sister Act 2 Back In The Habit that made the newly christened Jennifer Love Hewitt a big household name and then starred in the short-lived dramas Birds Of Paradise and McKenna. But it was actually Jennifer Love Hewitt's role as the character Sarah Reeves from Party Of Five that made her a huge name in TV and this role showed a grown-up mature Jennifer Love Hewitt as a top TV star. She also recorded her second album Let's Go Bang in 1995 for Atlantic Records and it proved that Jennifer Love Hewitt could also sing as well but the shocking thing about this album was there were NO singles released from it and I think the Let's Go Bang album could've been a big hit. But it was her third album that showed how her singing career improved. But after starring in the show Time Of Your Life which was a spinoff of Party Of Five that Jennifer Love Hewitt 's TV career was going downhill and I think she mainly focused on movies because that's where she was most comfortable doing and when she appeared in I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and sang the single How Do I Deal? that was Jennifer's first big single release. And once she moved to Jive Records and recorded her fourth album she became more well known in music. Jennifer Love Hewitt is one actress I admire because she is not only pretty but has many talents and is one of my role models too

Isn't she a regular on 9-1-1? She had a hit TV show with Ghost Whisperer. I mean I think she's had a longer career than Sarah who I don't even hear of any more.
