Is it wrong that I can’t stop thinking, ”Payback is a bitch!”

People Investigates will air an episode about Mike Williams. Even though I know the case, I’ll probably still watch the episode, because I am a mad fiend for this case.

Now that I have Xfinity, I've binged watched some episodes of Disappeared and have some thoughts.

NANCY MOYER - My gut tells me she ran off on her own. She appeared to love her daughters but clearly had some regrets over getting married and starting a family so young. That's what caused her marriage to end and once she had some freedom, she started keeping many secrets, the biggest one being that she was $50,000 in debt. I can't rule out the fact that one of the new men she was hooking up with could have done something to her but the debt factor nags at me and makes me think she ran away avoid her financial responsibilities.

MICHAEL CHAMBERS - I think he took off on his own as well. It's unfortunate since he appeared to deeply love his family. Other than finding out his wife of 36 years had recently had an affair, there are not too many reasons as to why he would run away. But the blood found in the garage is a huge red flag. It was in the center of the garage, one pool of perfectly round drops as if it had been poured out of a vile. If someone stabs you in a struggle, the blood is not going to drop like that. And there was no trail of it leading out of the garage and no other signs of a struggle. He took the money and drivers license out of his wallet and took off on his bike. Where and how he went from there is anyone's guess. He also mentioned to his son-in-law a couple months earlier how easy it would be to disappear after watching investigative shows on TV. If that's not foreshadowing, I don't know what is.

STEPHANIE CRANE - Definitely an abduction. But who might have done it is hard to pinpoint. Car sightings of people who some would view suspicious is not a lot to go on. Although I wish we could find out more about the alleged screams some people heard of a child coming from the basement of a nearby house. If that was indeed the same day Stephanie disappeared, that's an awfully big coincidence.

MARTIN ROBERTS - My gut tells me this was suicide. He was clearly experiencing a ton of inner turmoil, which seemed to get worse after he was arrested for a DUI. Evidently, the shame he felt he brought to his father over that never went away. He kept a ton of secrets. The last person to see him, (a freak chance running in to his cousin near campus) he lied to her about where he was going. There is a ton of wilderness surrounding the area where he could have gone to end his life. I can't shake the feeling that that's what happened.

FYI, the Facebook page for Disappeared just updated their cover photo to a new one yesterday, so something might be brewing.

Of these episodes, the one that probably confuses me the most is the tragic death of 25 year old Georgia resident Kelly Nash. I should add the disclaimer that while this was a recent episode of Disappeared, it may have been one of their “special edition” episodes. Most of the time when I see a case where suicide is a possibility, I usually end up learning things that further validate that theory. That just didn't seem to be the case in the Nash disappearance IMO.

By all accounts, Nash was a young, well educated, attractive man who seemed to be in the prime of his life. He was a soon to be college grad, was successfully employed at his father's construction company, was reportedly close to his family, and was in a committed relationship with his live-in girlfriend. There have been no reports of any significant physical or mental health problems, and he apparently didn't have any struggles with drugs and/or alcohol.

Despite all this, he somehow disappeared from his home in the middle of the night with basically only the clothes on his back. The only other item missing from his home was a handgun that Nash reportedly owned. Tragically, just weeks after Nash went missing, his body was found in Lake Lanier. The leading theory by LE at this point is that Nash died of a gunshot wound and subsequent drowning.

I just don't have a sweet clue as to what to make of this case! Maybe my fellow posters can clue me in here. Is this type of thing common amongst suicide victims? Is it likely that this young man who seemingly had everything to live for, and no major problems or stresses to speak of would wander off and take his own life? Am I just thinking zebras here, or could there be more to this case that we're not privy to?

I'd love to hear some thoughts on this because I'm just stumped.

http://crimefeed.com/2015/04/disappe...lly-nash-case/
Sorry to bring up one of my older posts, but I feel that I'm now in a position to answer my own questions regarding the Nash case. Last year, in what was a tragic situation, one of my family members unexpectedly took her own life. She was a beautiful young lady, who was highly intelligent and absolutely going places in life. She was also married with two wonderful babies that she truly adored. Though I feel I didn't tell her nearly enough, I deeply admired and respected her, and when I was notified of her death, I immediately went into denial and began speculating that there was foul play involved.

I have since learned some distressing things that convinced me she did indeed commit suicide. I now know from tragic personal experience, that yes, a person can absolutely take their own life despite all outward appearances of normalcy. I also now believe that Kelly Nash in all likelihood took his own life as well. My experience has now given me a new perspective on the many possible suicide cases profiled on UM and other true crime programs.

Blue galaxy, I am sorry for your loss. I think you are absolutely correct that most of the time a suicide is exactly that, but family doesn’t want to accept it.

What do you all think of the new Disappeared episodes? I don't like the new format.

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who feels this way CT. I'll always be a loyal fan of course, but still...

Speaking of Disappeared...they aired an episode about Robert Hoagland, who had mysteriously vanished from his wife and kids -- news dropped today that he had started a new life under a new name and had just passed away a few days ago:

Could you elaborate a bit on the new format?

I watched one from the 2022 season and I was unhappy to the point that I turned it off. I didn't even finish it. My dislike was that it was a young women who disappeared right as the covid shutdown kicked in ~March 2020.

The episode harped on the issue that had Miss Redhair been a white woman and not Native American, then she would have been found right away. I didn't care for the constant racism angle rather than the fact the entire US was trying to deal with a new virus that initially sent millions to the hospital and death.

*I wish no disrespect to the family, it's just some people are free spirits and I got the vibe that she didn't listen or mind. She likely died from a jealous boyfriend, but there wasn't much evidence to charge him; only that she's missing without a trace.
