An inconsistency is a Thanksgiving episode when George's younger sister appeared with her husband who said she was a lousy cook. That's the only episode she's in and she's never mentioned again. After that it seems as if Deidre is George's only sister.

Actually what is odd here Diedre appears first in Season 1 Episode 8 then the following show Season 1 Episode 9 is the Thanksgiving show. George's sister Phyllis appears and is never back. As we said before. Back in those days, the producers probably thought these shows were one offs and never would have the shelf life that do today.

I've been watching the early episodes, and have seen George Baxter's snooty sister in a couple of episodes.

Also that Hazel mentioned knowing Missy since her childhood.

Yes, we know that Hazel and Dorothy go way back. Probably Hazel worked for Dorothy's parents.

Yes, that would be against everything from the first four seasons.

But Hazel did know George from when he and Dorothy were dating.

I don't remember exactly what Steve said, but I remember it's probably from the first episode of season 5, which establishes Steve and Barbara.

Yes in that last season the writers didn't seem to talk to each other. As in one episode Steve is ready to fire Hazel but Barbara defends her and stops Steve. In practically the next episode Barbara is now the one who's ready to fire Hazel and Steve stops her with his sudden love of Hazel. Personally I would have fired Hazel 4 years prior during the b/w first season as Hazel never took orders and did just what she pleased. But then the show would have only lasted one episode.
