For those who remember Day by Day, what were your opinions of it? I thought it was very good and should've lasted longer than it actually did. Thoughts?

Yes I do agree with that statement. I enjoyed watching this show. I think the network treated this show poorly changing it's time slot a couple of times during it's first couple of months on the air before finally burying in on Sunday nights. I also really like the theme song. It's one of my favorite TV theme songs. It was originally written as a Pop standard in the 1940's by Sammy Cahn, Axel Stordahl, and Paul Weston. Clydine Jackson sang the version used for Day By Day's theme.

I enjoyed the show too. I had pretty much forgotten about it, but it was one that I watched every week.

I was kinda surprised when the show was canceled. During season one, the network sure did promote this show. They aired several episodes throughout the week. Even one night after The Cosby Show. I was a kid and was mad because I was wanted to see A Different World.

If this show would have had a long run perhaps Julia Louis Dreyfus wouldn't have been available for the part of Elaine on Seinfeld and perhaps Courtney Thorne Smith wouldn't have played Allison on Melrose Place. So the premature demise of Day by Day may have actually benefited those other shows.

It took me awhile to warm up to it as it replaced My Two Dads on Sunday nights. But it did grow on me and I think it should have lasted longer. It had a great cast. I loved the theme song too.
