Harry Stone's Fate In Night Court Reboot Is A Sad Reminder Of Reality
The Night Court reboot has a sad storyline about the original series' protagonist, Harry Stone, and the true story makes the plot even sadder. Night Court Reboot Cast & Character Guide NBC’s reboot of the classic courtroom comedy Night Court boasts a cast of talented actors and an ensemble of wacky characters, like the original. |

I have watched two episode of it and so far am not impressed. It just to me isnt funny, and the Dan Fielding character is just sad. Maybe you might think differently. I am not giving up on it however.
The woman who plays the prosecutor is beautiful however. |

I watched some clips of the old Night Court show from the 1990's.
I sort of forgotten how much of a weasel that John Larroquette's character Dan was. He wasnt past redemption but he was incredibly snarky and mean at times. He told a man who was a midget who asked him for directions in the building to just follow the yellow brick road (the small man turned out to be his new boss and new worst nightmare). Plus the way he was so misanthropic with attractive women. He was a jerk. Also, I have forgotten the crazy comedy in the old show. It was actually quite unique in a way which is why it lasted so long. The cast was also great and worked well as an ensamble。 Unfortunaty, what made the old show so funny would be pillored by the leftist politically correct crowd. The scene I mentioned with Dan and his midget boss. This would be "small people phobic", or the slimy way old Dan was with the ladies would be again pillored as anti-woman. This new show seems to the shadow of the old show. |

The revival probably has the right idea to present an "older and wiser" version of Dan. I mean, a person is bound to change and evolve over 30 year anyway. Plus, it would just feel even more creepy and pathetic to see a now 75 year old John Larroquette still act like a skeevy horndog around the ladies. |

Am I getting soft, or does this episode have a pulse?

The Apartment episode? Each episode has shown improvements. It occurred to me the weakest character had been Harry’s daughter. For a Judge she is too nice to everyone. So it’s a huge relief for her to show real anger. Actual emotion of any kind. I hope they stick with that. Not that she is angry all the time but has a real personality.
Also Dan is finally showing real energy too. It’s slowly been coming to the surface week to week. But this week coaching the DA it’s clear he was doing it for his own ego. That is Dan! Sure he is much older and wiser. Times have changed. But no reason Dan’s huge ego can not flourish in other ways. |

Anyone know how many episodes are in the first season? I have been searching online and old posts in this thread and can not find any answer.
One thing I did find is someone attended taping episode of episode 7. Way back in May 2022. https://robonlocation.com/tv-tapings/night-court/ So I have no idea where they are in schedule now. It was known for long time NBC held back the show to mid season. They easily had finished enough episodes to start airing last Fall if they wanted to do so. |
