Not on Unsolved Mysteries, mainly because it was a case that wrapped up quick and wasn't even a missing case for very long.
But there is no better place than here to discuss Scott Peterson's case. A refresher, in 2002 Scott Peterson was charged and convicted with killing his with Laci Peterson who was also 8 months pregnant. He was charged for the 2nd degree murder of his unborn son, Conner, as well. She went missing on Christmas Eve 2002, and her body was found in April of 2003, along with Conner's. Peterson was charged at that time, then found guilty at the trial. Things such as Peterson's behaviour during this time was a red flag, plus the fact he was having an affair at the exact time his wife was missing. Was a lot of what got him convited circumstantial? Perhaps, and he has always maintained his innocence. But man, this is a smug guy I could just never like. Darlie Routier, Larry Race, Tommy Ziegler, etc. you could picture yourself enjoying the company of these people, but there was something about Scott. That doesn't mean he ought to be convicted on my opinion of him, but what are your thoughts on this case? He recently tried an appeal a couple of weeks ago. |

I am a spit from Modesto, so I know the areas where all of the different things would have taken place.
The one thing I have not had settled is the ability to lift a dead Lacey out of the tin can of a boat and put her in the water without capsizing it. I can understand people having affairs and even first-time fathers wigging out, but who the heck would say that their wife was dead recently and then be back out dating? Who the heck would date a man whose wife died recently? Give it a year at least for a death. |

Scott was a charmer, I am sure he said all of the right things. He was a philanderer, probably easy for her to get caught up in things. Women go nuts over widowers. Scott knew this I am sure. |

With regards to the Amber Frey issue...I never had concerns about her intelligence or character. If nothing else IMO, she was instrumental in proving that Peterson was a skilled and accomplished liar. I applauded her then and now for not only assisting in the investigation, but also coming forward publicly and exposing herself to the madness. I give her the benefit of the doubt that her motives for doing so were honorable. That said however, I wanted more than just the opinions, assertions, and resentments of the duped "other woman", Laci's grieving/traumatized mother (justified as she was), and the nearly rabid (JMO) Nancy Grace. And as it stands today, my overall opinion remains the same. Yes, I believe that Peterson most likely murdered his pregnant wife, but the only things that were proven to my satisfaction, were his deceit and infidelity. Once again however, that is all JMO. |
