Confused

Sorry for the ginormous sideways pics. I don't know how to fix it.

I didn't mind so much when he became State Budget Director. It was managing a bigger budget, so it fit. The Lt Gov stuff was when it jumped the shark. I didn't get that leap at all.

This here. If they ran out of ideas, it should have been ended. I preferred Caroline McWilliams as Marcy.

The only way to succeed in syndication is to be found. Not aired over night or early in the morning

7pm to 12am

I don't recall the syndication ever being in anything but off hours.

When Benson returned to Antenna TV a few years ago, it started weeknights at 9PM. But after a few months they moved it to 4PM. It has been in primetime Sunday nights at 7:00. When the January schedule starts that hour will move to Sundays at 11PM, plus it will gain the 4PM hour on weekends. It is a shame Benson does so poorly, a much much better show than Paul Junger Witt's more popular The Golden Girls.

I know it was scheduled there. Your affiliate must have preempted it.

As for hired help, Hazel Burke and Lynn Belvidere are more likable characters.
Lynn Belvidere has some jerky moments too, but they are balanced with moments of compassion as well.
I was just watching this clip from Robert Guillaume's interview with the Television Academy:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwmDCGZBDDU

He said that Benson was often perceived and misrepresented by critics as a one-trick pony type of show, where Benson always has to be smarter than everybody else and what not. Basically, people according to Robert, wanted to accuse the Benson DuBois character as being "militant".
