The Samoan-American actor, who died of a stroke, played Detective Ben Kokua on the original Hawaii Five-0, starting in 1974 after appearing in other roles on the show since 1969. He had a recurring role on the Hawaii Five-0 reboot as Mamo Kahike.

My parents saw Mr. Harrington perform in a Honolulu nightclub while he was appearing as Det. Ben Kokua on H-50. “I’ll play my @ss off for you,”Mr. Harrington told the nightclub audience, my father told me. Mr. Harrington was very gracious and friendly to everyone, my father recalled.
