I know. Mrs. C was nothing like Peggy Rea's characters. Not at all.

They could have been sisters though.

it was actully actress peg murray who played mrs c on the show

I saw this a few times. One thing that was odd was that it spelled out the show's premise by showing scenes from the never fully broadcast pilot. It somewhat bugged me that Mrs. C's son and,especially, daughter-in-law were rich snobs who only grudgingly accepted the ex-con rooming with the old lady due to the old lady needing help around the house and extra cash- yet those two dorks could have easily given Mrs. C the help and cash and she would have had no need for a roomie. Of course, if they'd done that, the whole premise of the show would have been trashed and there would have been no show. But that wouldn't have been a bad thing!

Yeah, I'm sure more than one viewer saw this listed in the guide and thought it was a spinoff from 'Happy Days' involving something naughty with the Fonz and Marion!
