The series premiered during the 1993-94 season on ABC, briefly canceled after the 1994-95 season; but The WB renewed the show for the 1995-96 season, continuing until May 23, 1999. Sister, Sister was a de Passe Entertainment Productions and Paramount Television presentation. The WB's primetime line-up of The Parent 'Hood, The Wayans Bros. and others.

Sister Sister boned the fish when Tia and Tamera's classmates became recurring characters and Roger stopped appearing in Season 4.

The Season 5-6 episodes weren't bad, but they weren't as good as the earlier episodes.

  • Other Thoughts:

Day one, but after it moved to the WB it jumped back over to the good side. Getting canceled by ABC must've been a wake up call that this show was just plain stupid. After it switched networks it showed tremendous improvements.
    Crap, crap.
You know Tia has a mole so why does Tamera now have a mole. Who has a mole? Other than that I like the show Buds cool he brings back memories of Cosby show days. But the girls are so mean now they don't have to be so mean to everybody.
    One word: R-E-S-P-E-C-T!
This show jumped into the JTS hall of shame with that idiotic episode where Tia and Tamera found out who their real father was. I mean come on, aside from the fact that this particular show seemed very rushed for some reason, Tamera pushed herself and her sister off the boat into shark infested waters when she acted suprised that she was part caucasian. I mean come on, growing up in detroit michigan for 16 years (at the time of this episode) and being percieved as being Afrocentric young women do they really think that they are totally African-American? I mean come on, I'm a light-skinned African-American male who is 3/4 black and through the years I've been asked many times what am I mixed with and so on... So in conclusion, I'm glad they took these stuck up bitches off the air, let them let them spin around in the shark pool for eternity!!!
In pre-production. Who in the world thought it was a good idea to have sexy, sophisticated Stephanie Beecham play a NUN???? With a ton of kids???? What a sorriful misuse of talent. What a sappy theme song. What a waste of concupiscence.
It was a gradual thing, when the show first started i loved it, then the twins got older...and bitchier. They are so mean to Roger now, if they were a little nicer, he might stop stalking them.
This show jumped when the sisters started trying to say things like "go on, girl" and "mmm-hmmm!" when they never used to in the early episodes. Just what TV needs: more black stereotypes. The worst part about it was that they were so bad at doing it, too.
This was a terrible, terrible show. Its a proven fact that nobody likes shows with twins--its way too gimmicky. Cripes, people hated the Olson twins, and they didn't even appear on the screen at the same time! I don't think I've laughed once at Sister, Sister EVER. And that says something, seeing as i watched it for an entire season. Blah.
i remember these 2 annoying girls from some other show and when they got there own show i wanted to vomit. i mean think about it twins that dress alike older than 3, how cute, NO !. listen the only people that should finish each others sentences are the twins from the gi joe cartoon in the 80's. G.I. JOE RULES !!!!
The show jumped the shark when the girls tried to sing, and then doubled back and jumped again, because the twins seemed to INSIST ON DOING IT. (Well, until that Roger kid's talent started to eclipse theirs, that is.) And if it wasn't bad enough, every plot seemed to involve the girls serenading their friend/boyfriend/anyone in range, entering a talent contest with, surprise, surprise, a musical number, singing "naturally" in the house (Sure, lotsa people sing in the house, but do they concentrate on their breathing that hard when they're doing it? You can almost hear them counting beats.) Then, as final nails in the coffin, the theme tune changes to the girls screeching "AH GOT MAH OWWWWN MIIIIIIND!" and then one of them murders RESPECT. I'm sorry, but this is just over-indulgence. Something tells me that some strings were pulled to allow all this singing in the first place- people who ham it up that much in their singing obviously think they're very good. Sorry, girls. Another nasty thing about this show is once they got boyfriends they started getting sassy because these guys talked like that. As well as the sheer fakeness of it all, it sends out two very bad messages: (1) All black people say stuff like "Are you buggin'?" and "Mmm-HMMM!" (2) If your love interest doesn't like you for who you are, just change your personality! Stop being someone people don't want you to be. You're obviously useless! Aside from that, the twins are two extremely un-likeable people. They're snobby, passive-aggressively anti-white, (The Our-Dad-Is-White story, plus there are a few "playful jibes" in this series that sound bigoted coming out of their mouths,) they have serious ego-issues. (I remember Tamera got jealous of Tia every other episode.) Plus, they are TV twins, and TV twins are nearly ALL annoying snot-nosed brats. On that note, they also had the Olsen Twins as guest stars. Need I say more?
This show is quite possibly the best minority-twin- teenage-single parent-sitcom to ever air. Sure it may be poorly written, poorly acted, and not all entertaining, but it made a damn fine break between arthur and an hour of simpsons after school.
Sister Sister was pretty good until about 1997 when they changed the theme tune, and later got rid of Roger. I mean, come on! "Shister Shisterrrrrr...<inaudible>glad to be with yaaa,Ah have ma owwn miiiind,Ah do ma own styyle,in ma own tiiiimmmmmeee" It sounds like the've just drunk 32 glasses of beer! The plotlines went down around the same time. Graduation, anyone?
I think that Sister Sister is a very good t.v. show. I think that the nasty people that have something bad to say about it are just mad because they don't take off their clothes, they are not hoes, and they have morals and values. That is why they have so much stuff to say about their show. They will be the first ones to say that somebody is poisoning their childs mind if there was somebody on t.v. that was being all nasty, but when a good wholesome show comes on the air they say all this bad stuff. They are stupid!
Oh lord, Who could blame Roger for wanting to taste those Twins tasty panties. I mean they were stuck up hoes, but hot nontheless. As for content. I think that the Father, I dont know who he was, he was a total ***. Any black man with any heartbeat would have take about two seconds to jump on that sweet round ass of Jackee. Thats why she didnt respect Ray Ray- whatever his name was. He had no balls and the show died on that premise alone.
I loved Sister, Sister. I used to record every episode, but honestly it was mostly only because I was in love with Roger. Actually I was (and still am) in love with the guy that played him, Marques Houston, who is the lead singer of Immature. So in my opinion, the show jumped when he left and they tried to replace him with Tyreke and Jordan. No way could they ever replace Roger in my heart!!!
I just the hated the finale. Lisa should have married Ray instead of a man she barely knew. Everything seemed rushed and unorganized.
It never jumped. It is funny. I like the actors who play Lisa,Tamera, and Tia. I like every episode. I like the part where Tia and Tamera found each other at the mall.
this show jumped the shark when they made Jordan and Tirekeke a permanent part of the cast. They were ok, but common, every single episode! Another thing-I'm black myself, but I cant figure out why almost every single character in the show is black, the truth is only 10% of people are. (they shouldn't make all the whites stupid either) And how come Tamara in that one episode wore glasses and never did again? Its just weird. And is the guy who plays Jordan the guy that was Rudy's friend on the Cosby Show, and Vanessa's friend Dabnis, wasnt he on the show? Its not that hard to figure out seeing as though Tia and Tamara's role model was Rudy Huxtible.
I loved this show and watched it a lot when it was on and I still love the reruns on Disney, but I think the show jumped when the girls got boyfriends. I liked it before they got boyfriends. I didn't like the actors, and I thought they should bring Roger back. But other than that I thought she show was great. I liked Tia, Tamera, Ray, and Lisa, and I thought Lisa was hilarious, but when they got boyfriends, that's when the show jumped the shark.
Could this show be anymore annoying??? My sister watches it and every time I hear the ear piercing whines coming from the T.V I almost shoot myself. All I have to say is Thank God for earplugs or I'd be dead right now.
I think this show is actually pretty funny. Jackee steals every scene...everything she says is funny. On a different note, I really don't think the girls look that much alike for identical twins. (Nothing like the resemblance between Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen). Nonetheless, I think the show is very cute and I enjoy watching it with my kids.
I think some of the previous posters have rocks in their heads. I love this show especially the later episodes when they had boyfriends. I loved watching Roger too but I loved to see the young ladies and their boyfriends interact. I loved Jackee' as Lisa. She was a scream. I think that they all worked well together. To the person who called them "stuck up bitches" , you really need to get out more. It is a tv show. It is entertainment. Leave at that. You don't know anything about Tia and Tamera Mowry. I also disagree with the previous post about stereotypes. One post mentioned that the fact that they had a Caucasian father. He went on to say how he is 3/4 black and has been asked all his life what he is mixed with. To him I say, your point is? And ?....please!!!! I say kudos to "Sister Sister" , ALL episodes especially the last two seasons. Continued success to all the actors and actresses. (I also liked the new theme song)
There is no fine line, but the theme song changing is the closest external indicator. After that, Roger slowly disappeared, the sisters got boyfriends, the plotlines got bland, the jokes were not funny, and something happened to Tamera.
Everyone missed Roger. Keep in the mind that Roger was/is also a recording artist with the former "Inmature" now IMX. So it stands to reason that as he became more involved with his music career that he wouldn't be on all the episodes. I thought the boyfriends were cute. (especially Jordan) I love the reruns on Disney especially the last two seasons.I thought the show was light-hearted and funny. I enjoyed watching Tia and Tamera. I also liked Alexis Fields. I do agree however that the finale seemed rushed.
I believe that this Show jumped the shark when Tia and Tamara got boyfriends. This delected Roger from the cast. Which made any people mad due to the fact that Roger was like a very important fact to the twins life. Besides that fact I love the show. It shows what family is all about. Even though The girls had many fights and arguments they still loved each other and got over it. This show was not fact they went through the same things every day brothers and sisters go through. Even through the are acting you still can fill as though the show is real life.
This show was not too bad, until they started to sing, and the plots of the show got considerably worse with each passing episode. I am going to have to agree with one of the above posters and say that our-father-is-white episode was incredibly idiotic and IMHO made me hate this show. To the fourth poster from the bottom, his point was that for most of his life he has been asked what am is he mixed with? What he was trying to say that 'Why should Tamara and Tia be shocked that there father is white?' They seem to be intelligent females and should have in some way should have questioned their true ethnicity, since their skin color differs form their friends. Instead they go through the whole show thinking that black and all of sudden when they find out that there real father is white, they have the audacity to act like they didn't know that they were mixed? I mean come on they could have given the audience has a some intelligence and arena all blind when it comes to skin color. Instead, they play it off as if this situation could not happen. But, no they didn’t they turned what could have been a very powerful episode and played it off as a 'A Very special episode.'
I am so shock to find that the people that hated sister, sister did not mention the most annoying and stupid character DIAVIAN. I mean the show had Jumped the shark as is and they decided to ruin it even more by adding that stupid as character. For starters they had the nerve to make the audience believe that Diavian had been their freind since they had been attending Rosevelt High. And they really insulted my intelligence with the episode when everyone forgets the twins birthday and Diavian says " Ah we always put cupcakes in your locker when it is your birthday". First of all, know one put any cupcakes in the twinz locker, and where did Diavian pop up? From the sky? Where was she the first four years of the show? Not a damn place in site. But then when she appears she is not only their friend but their best friend? BULL**** what happen to all of their other friends? did they mysteriously disappear or was they written out of the show to be replaced by this one annoying black girl that only knew how to speak ebonics. After this Sister, Sister did not JST it was destroyed which would explain why the twinz career has never been right ever since.
I agree also, that "Sister, Sister" did jump when the girls started going out with Tyreke and Jordan, and all of a sudden they became "sassy". Even though, it's just a tv show, like a previous poster mentioned this is setting a bad example for young girls out there who feel that they have to change their image to satisfy a man. Not to mention that, that they were so bad at doing it. It didn't even sound natural to them. The show did jump also when Roger left the cast. Even though I wouldn't quite label the girls as snobby there was an episode in season five here the girls are on a date with Tyreke and Jordan and Roger comes along. In one scene, when Tyreke and Jordan got up to get drinks Tia & Tamera were telling Roger o stop embarrassing them but the part that aggravated me was when Tia said "They think wer're sophisticated..." She said it in a snobbish tone, and i was like "Yeah, okay". Tia & Tamera were cool in the older episodes but in the newer ones it's like they're trying to be something that they're not.
This show jumped when Tyreke and Tia broke up. This show just was not every enjoyable after Tia and Tamera graduated. Also there series finale was the worst one I have ever seen.
"Sister, Sister" jumped when someone planted the cruel joke of an idea in the twins' heads that they are attractive enough to be anywhere near a TV camera.
They should have called this show Ray and Lisa because they made the show. Ray has enough acting experience in comedy and drama and Lisa is always funny and quite fine (what an ass). I wouldn't mind hooking up with her. Anyways, I digress. The twins were too goofy and unfunny to be attractive and Roger lost his touch when the writers tried to make him a stud. This show is okay but I only watch when there's nothing better to do.
Sister Sister jumped the shark last season when the twins got boyfriends and Roger left the series. The first 4 seasons were about Tamera (the party animal and goofy one) always getting Tia (the brainy one) into a harebrained scheme and always getting caught. I liked when the twins used to always shun Roger telling him to go home. Lisa and Ray should have gotten together. The last season totally sucked and i stopped watching when the twins got with Jordan and Tyreke. In the last season there was basically no plots and the twins were too old for their goofy schemes and the joked were tired and unfunny. I did watch the last episode and that was the worst last episode of any show on TV. Lisa gets married to a stranger instead of Ray. It would have made a lot more sense if the two had gotten married and they really would be a family and Tia joins a safari with her real father and Tamera joins the WNBA. The last episode was too rushed therefore it sucked.
Sister, Sister never jumped the shark. All those people who say it sucked. Get a life!!! Don't you have one or all you have to do in your pathetic life is critize a little T.V show. The people who say that say it is a bad influence on young girls about being sassy grow up. Most shows today are a bad influence on one group of people or another. Those who say they are stuck up bitches. who are you to say. those who judge are just as swallow. I am not juding I telling the truth. You dumbasses need to grow up, get real, and deal.
Sister,Sister JTS when the theme song changed. After that the show wasn't the same. They stopped talking to the camera,They stopped saying "Go Home Roger" and they had boyfriends.I hated when they tried to act black they were kinda bad at it.To be honest the girls weren't the greatest actresses.Lisa made the show funny. She was so hilarious.
How can we, any of us, sit here, and critizize two girls we have never even met before? We have no right to JUDGE someone if we never even saw them face to face, talked to them, or know them personally. The show may have not have been the greatest show that ever was created, but it sure was not the WORST show in the world. I would assume that it is not very easy to go to the studio everyday, remember a bunch of lines, and act in front of thousands of people that are ready to jump at your every move on national t.v. They put off a normal childhood to have a career in acting to make US (the public) happy. And all we can do is complain, and talk silly crap on how the last season SUCKED, how we did not like some of the Characters, that they are dressing too sexy, or that they are acting too sassy, and not to mention the comment that they are not being who they really are? What right do we have? No show in the history of television can stay around forever, or always have the funniest plots. The show cannot all the time fit our desires on what we think it should be based on. What did WE EXPECT, that Sister, Sister was going to last until Tia and Tamara were old, with grand children? The show must have not been that bad, because it lasted SIX YEARS! A lot of shows do not even last three episodes. Tia and Tamara worked hard, just like all the other actresses in the world. The horrible things some people said are unfair, rude, disrespectful, and frankly just immature. Tia and Tamara are beautiful twenty-five year old women, now, so they probably do not even give a hoot what the disgusting things people say about them. They are too mature, and wise beyond their years to even read such garbage. To say that they are trying to be something they are not, that is BULL CRAP! They are ACTING! Hello?! They are supposed to be pretending to be something they are not. That is what acting is all about, people! The show was not a REALITY. Sister,Sister has been off the air for nearly five years now, so we should let the show rest in peace, and leave it alone. Tia and Tamara did the best they could. They are probably proud of their family (no matter if they have black and white parents), they are probably living happy and well, so instead of cursing about them, slandering them, and gossiping about them we should wish them the best, and be happy that we got a chance to witness and watch such a unique, beautiful, show, that happened to contain a duo of sophisticated, kind, wonderful, and truly talented human beings.
I don't think the show ever failed. It's been doing great. Everyone in my house watches it. My own mother watches this show. I think that it's been going great since it premiered and I don't think that they should have ever canceled it.
I think this show jumped when they got boyfriends. If anyone noticed, they didn't start acting sassy before they met Jordan and Tyreke. And, When Lisa got married to victor. I mean, who gets married to a total stranger? Come on!
My kids and I watch this show all the time on Disney. I think it's pretty good and the girls are cute. The values expressed on the show are pretty good for the kids. It's kind of fun to see old Venus Flytrap from WKRP again (Ray).
You people are very critical. These are good Christian girls who were acting. We are not in any place to curse them, call them bad names and other crude things. Are we all going to do that to actors who play villains or try Mel Gibson. He is a good man but played various roles in his younger life that were not good people (Bird on a Wire or whatever). Please stop. I admit the middle seasons were best but come one. Do you only have time to watch what you say is the worst show ever then criticize it? This is by far the "worst" show ever. I would rather kids watch this than Lizzie McGuire that is all about boyz or other shows. Enough is Enough
Some people are taking this thing way too seriously and are overdoing it. This isn't a site to slander other people--it's to express our opinions about a TV show. Some people will think the show's great while others will think it just sucks. It's an OPINION. No one's going to win this battle because no one's right. Personally, I think Sister, Sister jumped from day one. When I was 9, it was ok, but now, I just don't like it. The show is too lame and it doesn't seem funny at all. The singing isn't that bad, but the twins are not going to hit the top of the charts anytime soon. I liked the relationship between Ray and Lisa, but frankly, the show seemed too dumb to become much of anything. Each episode seems to follow the same story line so it gets bland after a while. I can watch it if nothing better is on, but I can definitely find funnier shows on TV.
Roger's pants. Ray and his talks about life. The new intro. Different hair. Older boyfriends. Ray running for mayor.
I have been a fan of Sister, Sister ever since it started coming on. I even recorded like 6 ep. of it onto a blank VHS. But anyway, this show NEVER jumped. Why? Because it was funny, it followed the same route as "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air", b/c both featured young Black teens moving in with rich family members, with results that varied btw uber-funny and above-average. The "Sister, Sister" twins (Tia and Tamera) were funny, and good-looking too. This show worked b/c unlike every show with other twins, such as the Olsens, this show focused on the other characters as well. Ray and his limo business. Lisa and her messed-up fashion designing career. Roger and his obsession with the twins. One of my favorite episodes was the one where Tia and Tamera thought that the slightly overweight white girl that was their friend (Sara, I think her name was) was a psycho murderer/ stalker that was going to kill them with brownies. My second favorite was the one where Roger became a pimp and had the twins and all those other girls and they was fighting over him. Now if I could figure out what happened to the "Sister,Sister" twins (I think their real names wereTia and Tamera Mowry(sp??)
They were never really any good. They weren't horrible, but they weren't funny, they weren't that pretty, and the storylines weren't good. It should have been canceled after the first season. Also, as a last note, JTS is a website for you to share your opinions on when shows jumped the shark and why. It is not a place for close-minded people to call others dumbasses and such just because we have something to say. Yes, we are criticizing, but isn't that what this site is for? If you have a problem with what we have to say, remember that you arent the gestapo police and you cant stop it. also, try visiting another website where everyone else isn't criticizing a show. nobody has made any personal attacks on you, so you shouldnt go around calling them stupid or dumbasses just because they have a different opinion. you like the show? fine. say that, but dont attack others who dont agree with you. learn some manners.
This is to the above poster that said that S.S jumped the shark "when someone put the cruel joke into the twins heads that they were attractive to be put anywhere near a T.V. camera." The twins have normal features, something that is good. They don't have to look like supermodels to get a career in show business. They look like your average girl-next-door. They are not ugly, either. They are just regular looking people. They are pretty, but not overly dramatic pretty.
One episode is where a internet predator named Varique was pretending to be a photographer and wanted Tia for a photo shoot. Despite Ray and Lisa's wishes, Tamara (posing as Tia) goes ahead and does it. Tia comes and Varique tries to have his way with them before Venus Fly Trap comes to the rescue. Then we hear a lecture about predators and such. I hate it when shows get preachy.
I love this show. Tia and Tamera are tv's best twins! I like the shows when they have the straight hair. My favorite episode is when they are trying out for cheerleaders and don't make it. AWESOME!
I remember loving this show when I was about 10 and it first came out; I wanted to be just like Tia (i always thought she was the prettier twin). I watch re-runs now and am distinctly less impressed. Guess why, guys? Because the show is not specifically aimed at people our age (I'm guessing most people posting comments are at least mid-late teens +plus). Lisa and Ray were the talented actors on the show while the twins were a clever gimmick to get the show noticed. The show was always mid way between jumping and not jumping - the first few seasons, you wanted them to wear nicer clothes, be more feminine, sort the frizzy hair out and stop whining over silly schoolgirl things. As soon as they did that, they became bratty and egotistic. Yes you can tell their egos inflated as the show grew in popularity because previously they did not have any illusions about their mediocre acting talents. As they got older, they clearly thought they were better than they were and you can see this in their faces and attitudes. They also got boyfriends, which wouldn't have been so bad if Roger had been kept on. But then they had to get rid of roger because he wasn't gonna be a whiny tag along forever. Plus the girls weren't gonna stay single forever so tyreke and jordan had to be brought on. Ultimately, the show was never awful, but never a masterpiece. The worst thing that happened was Lisa marrying that idiot Victor instead of Ray. Since it was the finale, you'd have thought they could have married Lisa and Ray. That's what all the fans of the show wanted, right?
I don't really think that this show jumped the shark. Sure there were some disappointments like when Lisa married Victor, but for the most part, it was a good wholesome show. And another thing for all of you judgmental, unsympathetic creeps out there, who are you to say that the twins are ugly?! I bet your looks aren't worth a cent. The twins are too sassy?! Hello! They're acting. I thought that the whole point of acting was to play a character that is different from your personality. But hey, maybe I'm wrong. I can't believe some of you would say that this show sucked from the start. It couldn't have sucked so badly considering the time that it was on the air and the fact that it is still popular today. I agree with the person who said that they would rather their kids watch this than that Lizzie show. I guess children are not supposed to watch shows that teach them moral lessons. They're supposed to watch shows that teach them that having sex, doing drugs and wearing skimpy clothing is all good. You shouldn't put something down just because you are stupid enough not to see the good in it. P.S. For the uneducated voter, please make sure you learn how to spell and make sure that your nouns agree with your verbs before you go criticizing someone else.
Admittedly, the show was great, one of the best besides Fresh Prince. Compare Lizzie McGuire to that; I'm not offending any fans of Lizzie McGuire, but the show is basically comprised of Lizzie's Problems, needless to say repetitive and she's ever conscious about every little thing: impressing Ethan Craft, social life, blah, blah, blah, much the less far more stereotypical than the purported Sister Sister. The C-cupped popular girl whom everyone adores, relatively popular boy who's a goddamn airhead, etc, etc-flatitude. I didn't bash Lizzie McGuire, I gave reason to my resentment of it: it's tolerable, nothing eye-opening, just tolerable if you condone the bulging stereotypes and recurring "Mom/Dad knows best." moments. Needless to mention it was SHALLOW. Just shallow and lackluster, I mean no disrespect but it could have had more realism to it: Degrassi transcends it by a mile. Altogether, Sister Sister was a great show: not the shallow, preppie, two-minute slapdash garbage we receive nowadays. The show has character development, a central aspect required to keep a show aloft, not just the budget, plot and whatnot; the consecutively reimplied message throughout the show:We look alike, but we're different. This is what repels me from these current shows: the lack of character development: just ****ty, scenic cinematography, and in actuality just a vie for "Who's got the larger budget?" or "We can make a show, too." just shameful, a terrible farce. Sister Sister not only reflected on the twins, it mirrored on various characters featured in the series......they weren't just shoved to the wayside like CERTAIN shows. It had depth, along with the characters, voliminous ones fitted with diverse personalities. The characters weren't perfect and it never projected a "Flawless." demi-overtone as some of these current shows. These characters: Lisa, Ray, Tia, Tamera, Roger, etc all possessed one or two imperfections.....for example, Ray was a stiff, a wet blanket, the conservative overprotective father-he always wanted the best for the girls unaware of his selfishness. Consequently, Tamera would rebel or oppose his views and intentions; Tia would hesitate before doing so or would be coerced by Tamera. Shortly, it shed light on how these girls, these people were different, the antithesis of one another as they were expected similar to one another devoid physique. Moreover, one displaying envy toward another is innate: Tamera was jealous of Tia's outstanding academic excellence and secretly Tia envied Tamera solely for being the extrovert, the one who had the preferred personality of the two. Let me conclude this. It was a great show, excellent character development except downward towards the last seasons....disgusting. It no longer focused on the innovative instances in the previous series: just constant uncertainty, how to appease to their boyfriends (Jordan, Tyreke.), Victor one of the most horribly developed characters aside from Diavian, and there was no comedic relief....just sentimental romance relief. However, the twins were older and more into these matters than their childish misadventures. The series wasn't always funny, it wasn't entirely comedy. If it weren't so great and sooo horrible it wouldn't be rebroadcast, now would it? They did a great six years' worth of backbreaking work and they should be given far more credit....really. It wasn't 90210 but it had substance, and less flaws than these current shows-if they're considered as sitcoms, because from what I've seen, it's just craptastic. Moreover....to the earlier posters...hoes? They were never hoes, sluts, bitches, etc. They've had a series of boyfriends, they were teenagers what's expected? If they'd taken their clothes off and appealed to men, they'd be damn good, wouldn't they? They didn't forgo their entire childhood, maybe the best times of their lives to placate men...it was intended for a general audience, they're too good to exploit themselves so vilely.

the episode with Kirk Franklin guest starring as a choir leader was esp. cheesy. The twins singing with the choir gave me visions of the "Jammin' on the 1"-Stevie Wonder appearance on the Cosby Show
This show may have had a few horrible moments and I am tired of seeing the re-runs, however, it was and will always be a great show. The Mowry's are great actors and the show is simply something to laugh and relate to if you can't If you can't don't watch it. It is a sham how many low life people will spend their time, energy, and good vocabulary big words they will never use again to downgrade something that obviously wasn't made for them. The votes here at this website are in no way an accurate representation of all the feelings of this show or else it would not have lasted five seasons, gotten a final episode, and still be in syndication after ten years. Not to mention get a show for their brother. So all you jealous people who feel they are mean b#@*$'s, remember they were just acting because it was a television show. Maybe you are the mean ones for criticizing people who were innocent and great actresses
It seemed like it wasn't long ago when they were 14... WHEN DID THEY JUST SUDDENLY GROW UP?!??! I hated it when they started to wear make-up, that's when it jumped for sure. I see no point in watching the college episodes. People should know; it's a proven fact that 90% of the time when the characters have to go to college, it's time for the climax, but NOOO, Sabrina The Teenage Witch has to keep going and Sister, Sister does too. Raven off of "That's So Raven" is almost 19 or 20 and she isn't going off to college in the show! Come on! They should've ended Sister, Sister before they moved out.
Once Tia and Tamara turned sassy-like, it was all downhill. " uh-hmmmmm, you go girlfriend!!".
Has anyone noticed that these girls DONOT look like twins?! You can obviously tell them apart. The show jumped the shark when the twins got boyfriends, but also it jumped when they kept recycling the SAME OLD ACTORS. Notice how Diavian was an arch enemy of the twins when she was Rhonda's side kick (in the episode were Tamera runs for school president), then all of a sudden we're suppose to believe that they've been friends since day one?!? Also, some of the other characters who played love interests or crushes, were previously on the show before 1997. There are so many "Huh? wait a second!" moments in the show when it came back for the 1997-1998 season. Like for instance, pay attention to the episode when the twins get separate bedrooms. It just wasn't plausible...how is Rays room attached to their bathrooms, and what the hell happened to the other room?? Its very obvious.
The acting was horrible from the beginning. It is probably cute for kids, but I couldn't stand how their (the twins) lips moved all around their face while they talked. How annoying! I was barely able to follow the story-line half the time because their overactive lips were so distracting.

Switched personalities during college years?

I have to confess that I never really watched the College episodes, as I somehow missed them almost entirely. But still, I always got the feeling that this show became less and less fun as the girls became more and more "grown-up". Yes, I can see that they wanted to give the Mowry sisters more "mature" storylines, because they were almost adults at the time. But it was like everything just became... stiff. There was like no joy left in the show. I think it started around the same time as they straightened out their hair, but this became even more obvious around the time where they changed the theme song. I still adore their first theme song, which was really catchy and fun. And then, we got stuck with this awful "soul" crap.

I always liked the show more when it was on ABC (seasons 1 & 2). Once it moved to WB it lost some of its charm.

I just finished watching the entire series on Netflix. The show jumped the shark in Season 5.

The twins moved into separate bedrooms

The twins stopped talking to the camera / audience

The twins personality changes. Those girls were super corny and dorky. But in the last two seasons all of sudden the girls got all sassy and urban. Lots of neck rollings, "you go girl", head wobbling, "mm hmm that's right". It didn't feel natural.

Roger hits puberty and is phased out the show.

I didn't care for the boyfriends Tyreke or Jordan. I didn't think the twins had chemistry were either of them.

Less screentime for Lisa and Ray.

Diaviana as their best friend? Where did she come from? What happened to the twins friends from the previous seasons?

The show got too serious and less fun.

I struggled to get through Season 6.

The first four seasons were the best. The last two seasons sucked. If the soulful "sista sista I got my own mind comes on", I change the channel.
