Why doesn't The Parent 'Hood seem to be remembered too much these days - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

It had a relatively decent run of five seasons and 90 episodes. And while it may have not exactly been groundbreaking, it was still a cute if corny family sitcom.

I believe that it has been airing on HBO Max and it was airing on the Starz Encore Black channel for a time. But it it doesn't seem to be on anyone's best sitcom lists.

The Parent Hood was always a niche program- overall the ratings were never strong. It's about as well remembered as could be expected. Compare it to Unhappily Ever After which had the exact same run on the same network- the Parent Hood is a much better remembered show- I'd even say it is better remembered than shows like Caroline in the City which also had basically the same run and had much higher ratings in its time.

It's a Serial - if you start one episode you have to watch all the others. It's too much of a time commitment for most people. Myself included.

You're probably thinking of the drama series that ran on NBC for six seasons and not the WB sitcom from the 90s.
