Tales of the God Monkey was a Raiders of the Lost Ark ripoff that wasnt any good and had poor ratings and it was cancelled. I think it could have been a good show but probably the budget for the series wasnt enough and it was silly and not good.

Bagdad Cafe starring Whoopi Goldberg and Jean Stapleton, which only ran for 15 episodes in 1990. Although the 1987 German/US film version wasn't a major hit in the US, it was a success in Germany and was well-received by the critics on both sides of the Atlantic.

Tales Of The Gold Monkey was not a Raiders rip off, Donald P. Bellisario was inspired by the 1939 Cary Grant film Only Angels Have Wings, Donald had been trying to sell the show before Raiders came out, but because of the success of Raiders, Gold Monkey got greenlit because it was also set in the 1930s.

Joel Zwick, who directed the Adventures in Babysitting pilot for CBS in 1989 was recently on the TV Guidance Counselor Podcast. He discussed working on the pilot (at the 00:52:00 mark) and he doesn't hold back when he said that Jennifer Guthrie, who played the role that Elisabeth Shue played in the movie "wasn't good enough". He adds that Guthrie couldn't "play the game" and play with the talent that she was given such as Joey Lawrence and Brian-Austin Green.

I watched a couple of episodes of the TV series Fast Times at Ridgemont High and it was utterly unwatchable. Even had Ray Walston as Mr Hand and an actor who played the Spicoli character badly.
