Default The Orville is moving from Fox to Hulu for Season 3 in late 2020

https://deadline.com/2019/07/the-orv...ne-1202649836/

Seth MacFarlane announced at Comic-Con that his hit space adventure series is moving from Fox to the streaming service, starting in late 2020. Fox renewed The Orville for Season 3 in May, but Deadline reports that the "the show has evolved and production timelines have pushed delivery, making what was planned as a mid-season debut difficult. The show has a passionate fan base, and Hulu was able to step in as a home where the show can continue." Hulu is currently the streaming home for The Orville reruns. “The Orville has been a labor of love for me, and there are two companies which have supported that vision in a big way: 20th Century Fox Television, where I’ve had a deal since the start of my career, and Fox Broadcasting Company, now Fox Entertainment, which has been my broadcast home for over 20 years,” MacFarlane said in announcing the move. "My friends at the network understood what I was trying to do with this series, and they’ve done a spectacular job of marketing, launching and programming it for these past two seasons. But as the show has evolved and become more ambitious production-wise, I determined that I would not be able to deliver episodes until 2020, which would be challenging for the network. So we began to discuss how best to support the third season in a way that worked for the show. It’s exactly this kind of willingness to accommodate a show’s creative needs that’s made me want to stick around for so long. I am hugely indebted to Charlie Collier and Fox Entertainment for their generosity and look forward to developing future projects there. And to my new friends at Hulu, I look forward to our new partnership exploring the galaxy together.”

Oh man, that's going to make a lot of people mad, who don't have Hulu. If I watched the show I sure would be ticked b/c I can't afford to pay for Hulu at the moment.

Boy, am I happy I stopped watching in season 2. If I had, I'd be severely right now.

For fans who are really upset and won't be able to follow it, I don't think you're going to miss anything. The show was turning into a soap opera and therapy session for Seth MacFarlane. I guarantee that this is what Season 3 is going to be, a lot of relationship-themed episodes.

I liked The Orville, guess I'll have to get Hulu to watch season 3.

does this mean it'll only be available on-line and you have to pay to watch it?

Aye - which means for me (especially regarding MacFarlane's acting and writing) - bye.

Seth MacFarlane roasts Fox as he says "thank God" The Orville moved to Hulu

“I want to say, it is an absolute thrill to not be on the Fox network,” MacFarlane said Wednesday at the premiere event for The Orville: New Horizons, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “We never really belonged there. And they’ve curated a specific brand now. Between Beat Shazam, Name That Tune and Don’t Forget the Lyrics!, Fox has really captured the demo of people who have no idea what song they’re listening to.” He added: “When I look at Fox’s ratings, I gotta hand it to them: It takes a special talent to pander to the lowest common denominator without actually getting them as an audience. That takes talent! But hey, we’re here on Hulu, thank God.”
