Liz Sheridan, who played Jerry Seinfeld's mom on "Seinfeld" ... has died, TMZ has learned. Liz passed peacefully in her sleep from natural causes Friday at 2:30 AM ... just 5 days after her 93rd birthday. Liz brilliantly played Helen on the show for the entire run -- from 1993-1998. She's the only non-central character who played during the full run. If you recall, Helen and her hubby, Morty, lived in Florida. Her iconic catchphrase -- "How could anyone not like him?" She played a VERY over-protective mom. In addition to "Seinfeld," Liz played the eccentric neighbor, Mrs. Ochmonek, on "ALF." Liz was an accomplished Broadway actress, appearing in 12 productions on the Great White Way, including "Happy End" with Meryl Streep. She famously dated James Dean and even wrote a book about it called "Dizzy and Jimmy." They had a super passionate affair. The book is being turned into a feature film. Liz, who was a go-go dancer in the 50s, loved to sing and performed a one-woman show, "Mrs. Seinfeld Sings," all over the country. Liz is survived by her daughter and son-in-law. She was 93. RIP |

ALF co-creator and Jason Alexander pay tribute to Liz Sheridan
Paul Fusco, who co-created ALF, used the show's Twitter account to honor Sheridan, who died Friday at age 93. "Liz Sheridan was funny. She gave her all to every scene and rose to every comedic challenge. She was a charming, sweet, wonderfully funny woman. I had the pleasure to share many laughs with her both on & off screen," he tweeted. "I was incredibly lucky to have her on team ALF." Alexander, who appeared with Liz Sheridan on Seinfeld, tweeted: "She was as gracious and graceful a person and actress as you’ll ever meet. Fascinating life. Wonderful lady. Rest well." |

I was really sad to hear this news. I was just thinking about Liz when Estelle Harris passed. I met Liz and Barney Martin at a comic con in metro Detroit in the early 2000's and they couldn't have been lovelier people. Both were really engaging and genuinely happy to meet the fans. Liz also had a website around that time where she listed her personal AOL e-mail address. I would e-mail her every now and then and she'd always reply.
She will be missed.
