Jason Bateman Became the Shining Star of 'Silver Spoons'

Look who has had the longevity in their career as well. Jason Bateman is a great comedic actor. Ricky Schroeder back then was this extremely good looking kid actor and that got many young teen girls(including myself) to watch the show.

Somebody here claims that they met Erin Gray at the New Orleans Comic Con about ten years ago. She apparently said when asked about why Jason Bateman abruptly left Silver Spoons was that Ricky's Schroeder's mom felt threatened by Jason because his comedic timing was perfect. He was a natural when it came to acting and Ricky's mom would get into furious arguments with the directors about Jason.

Jason Bateman wasn't even on every episode so I don't think Rick was feeling irritated by him. There was no doubt that Rick was the star. Jason though was extremely talented and his scenes on SS were great. I always enjoyed watching him. When NBC cast him in It's Your Move, I followed. It was a good show. I don't know why it never caught on.
