The single most naïve and stubborn thing Tootie ever did

• Doing a fashion shoot with a man who had underage girls wearing provocative clothing.
  
• Traveling to NYC (without her parents or Mrs. Garrett's permission), where she got her wallet stolen. She then befriended a girl at a coffee shop, who was really a prostitute trying to turn her out.
  
• Blowing up at Mrs. Garrett when it looked like she wouldn't be allowed to go the Jermaine Jackson concert.

Are there any other examples that I left out?

Those are all bad but even THEY pale in comparison ' to when Tootie(in 'The New Girl') poured a pitcher of beer on a man's head and said 'Leave my friends alone, Creep!'- AFTER he had disclosed he was an undercover officer who'd just caught Blair and Jo trying to use a fake ID at a bar!


Seriously, did Tootie TRULY think that he'd have said 'Aw .. you've made me see the light! I won't be a meanie and arrest your friends after all!' after she did THAT?!

She JUST made things WORSE(and how could she have imagined pouring liquid on top of anyone's head would have improved things- much less an undercover cop's ?!)!

Traveling to NYC on her own. She put her life in danger there and didn't have Mrs. Garrett or any of the older girls there.

I think that was the worst one, too, PracTz. Going to a bar as a minor, without permission, is bad. But pouring a drink over a cop's head? OMG!

I don't think the bar thing was the worst. That just got them in trouble. I think her going to NYC alone was the worst because she put her life in danger. It was a very scary situation in that diner that almost changed her life for the worse. A pretty terrifying prospect.

I agree that the 'got lost and met up with a teen prostitute and her pimp' wound up risking FAR more to Tootie's safety, person,etc.However, one can give the benefit's doubt that, until she got things spelled out to her, she was genuinely ignorant that the girl and her 'friend' were trying to add her to the . ..collection.

Whereas it's nearly impossible to believe that Tootie (or anyone with a functioning brain) could have thought that pouring a beer over someone's head could have achieved anything besides making the pouree mad- especially AFTER he had revealed himself to have been an undercover cop ready to bust her pals!

I see what you're saying. Perhaps the beer-pouring was the dumbest move she did, and running away to New York City was the most dangerous or riskiest thing she ever did.

I'll bet you wouldn't have said the same thing you been the one that the cop been on the verge of busting when when she dumped the brewski.

I can imagine that Jo and Blair blessed out Tootie something fierce for that stunt using words she'd never imagined Blair would have known after ALL the dust finally settled. I seriously doubt ANY of the others cheered Tootie for doing that but wished they had could have crawled under the floor (including Natalie and Mrs. G.) .

Oh and, IMO, kid or no, it WAS 'the most naive and stubborn' thing Tootie did!

That time when Tootie started a rumor that Mrs. G. had an alcohol problem, which almost cost Mrs. G’s job. When in fact, Edna just had her eyes dilated. I thought that was careless, naive, stubborn and neglectful. She could have at least talked to her before starting a rumor. You would think that someone so close to her she would consult closely.

That rumor definitely could have cost Mrs. Garrett her job, but Tootie was in good company: Natalie, Sue Ann, and Cindy helped spread that rumor, and it spread so far it was overheard by school administration. And Jo and Natalie put a similar substance-abuse issue on the front page of the school paper in season 3's "Front Page", so Tootie's rumor-mongering feels tame in comparison: Mrs. Garrett was able to salvage her job, unlike Mr. Gideon.

It's still one of the most naive and thoughtless things Tootie's ever done... it just doesn't stack up to Natalie and Jo's behavior.
