If they made a "the Jeffersons" movie (more than likely they will in the distant future, knowing Hollywood), who would you like to see as the characters? Here is my cast list of those who I think in my opinion would be great in the roles:

GEORGE JEFFERSON: Martin Lawrence

LOUISE JEFFERSON: Viola Davis

FLORENCE JOHNSTON: Paula Jai Parker

LIONEL JEFFERSON: Nick Cannon

JENNY WILLIS JEFFERSON: Zoe Saldana

TOM WILLIS: Doug Davidson

HELEN WILLIS: Judith Scott

ALLAN WILLIS: Greg Rikaart

HARRY BENTLEY: Steve Coogan

MOTHER JEFFERSON: Margaret Avery

RALPH THE DOORMAN: Seth Rogen

So what do you all think of this castlist? Feel free to add who you think in your opinion would fit the roles.

It would be NOTHING like the original. Martin Lawrence would be horrible as George. Ricky Gervais is WHITE so that's not even possible! Sherman Hemsley was such a unique talent that there isn't a single known actor out there who could truly replicate him while looking somewhat like him.

SitcomsHeydayfan, i agreed with your opinion on The Jeffersons, Sherman Hemsley is forever be playing the great George Jefferson. Norman Lear was right, There is no “The Jeffersons” reboot.

I could've sworn that I once heard/read a rumor about a Jeffersons film adaptation with Martin Lawrence and Queen Latifah as George and Weezie. I thought that it may have been something that I merely imagined (lot the Mandela effect), but then I looked online to make sure that I actually did hear about it.

They did so that TV special remake a couple years ago on ABC with Martin Lawrence as George.
