This show was really disappointing to me. There was nothing new. I was hoping they would finally reveal something about the so-called boy friend Butch and how did he get up and leave and not notice that the naked girl beside him in bed was dead.
Unless one of the people who was there ever confesses, we will never know the full course of events that morning. |

Reds, ludes, etc have a way of making a body turn to room temperature if too many are taken at once. Just another typical OD of the 1970s drug culture. The others there probably took some time to hide their drugs and try and sober up a bit before calling for help, which is also typical of druggies.

Anissa was the author of her own demise.

I think that it's extremely simplistic to just say that. Of course, common sense would tell us that it's Anissa's own fault that she died prematurely because she choose to use drugs.
But let's put things into some perspective. Anissa really didn't have a real "childhood". From what I gathered, her mom just saw her as a meal-ticket. Anissa was therefore, made to work from the time that she was two years old. At two she was taking dance classes, at six was doing tv commercials, and t eight she was starring in Family Affair. And Family Affair mind-you, was by the looks of it, a grueling, full-time, year-'round job. Anissa was often either shooting or promoting the show in public, seven days a week. And to make matters worse, her character was never allowed to "grow-up". She was maybe, 13 when the show ended, and yet she was still forced to wear her hair in those pigtails, wear pinafore dresses, and carrying that little doll around. Also, the the producers allegedly made Anissa wear a chest binder when she hit puberty so she'd still be credible as a pre-teen girl. So of course, when she finally turns 18, and gains access to the money that was up until then withheld from her in a trust, she winds up dead of an overdose of drugs after partying hard all night. Basically, the girl wasn't prepared to be an well-adjusted and mature adult because she never gained or learned any proper coping skills to become one in the first place. All Anissa was ever good for to her mom, the Family Affair producers, and the general public was to be this cute, little girl on TV. |
