SAG-AFTRA Presidential Race: Three of Fran Drescher’s "Nanny" Co-Stars Backing Rival Matthew Modine

Three of Fran Drescher’s former co-stars on "The Nanny" have come out in support of her political rival, Matthew Modine, in the race to be the next president of SAG-AFTRA.

Charles Shaughnessy, Renee Taylor and Madeline Zima are also backing the Membership First slate of candidates headed by Modine and his running mate Joely Fisher.

None of them, however, said anything negative about Drescher or her running mate, Anthony Rapp, who are running on the ruling party’s Unite for Strength ticket.

I've always found it odd that SAG seems to lately have a president who didn't exactly have an A-list career. Gabrielle Carteris was the epitome of that.

The Nanny alum beat Matthew Modine to lead the powerful actors' union that boasts 140,000 members. “I am honored to serve my union in this capacity.
