I never read about any problems. I'm pretty sure everyone got along well. Judging by their easy going personalities, I cannot picture Jackie or Cheryl ever mistreating anyone.

I guess he's talking about Kate's mannerisms and body language towards Cheryl, but I never noticed anything out of the ordinary.

If no one let on that Kate did not like Cheryl, they public would never know. They seemed to get along fine when the cameras were rolling.

It seemed to many viewers, Cheryl/Kris took over Kate/Sabrina's role as the team leader. Therefore, Kris (who was previously, the cute, bubbly, warm and slightly nervous rookie) took on a more serious, bossy, take charge, almost icy demeanor. It would've logically made more sense for Jaclyn/Kelly to become the "leader" (being that she was the last remaining original Angel) by the fourth season, but Jaclyn Smith by her own admission, started phoning in her performances. She was only still there because she had a contract to honor.

Of course I know what it means, but I simply couldn't resist making that joke. After the Chrissy character took off, Suzanne demanded a ridiculous salary increase. The studio executives basically black-balled her.

At the beginning of the fifth season in 1980, Somers demanded a hefty salary raise from $30,000 to $150,000 an episode and 10 percent ownership of the show's profit. Those close to the situation suggested that Somers' rebellion was due to husband Hamel's influences. When ABC denied her request, she boycotted the second and fourth shows of the season, due to excuses such as a broken rib. She finished the remaining season on her contract, but her role was decreased to 60 seconds per episode (her character only appearing in the episode's closing tag in which she calls the trio's apartment from her parents' home).

I remember it quite clearly. She goes from one of the most popular people on tv, but then gets relegated to 'Thigh Master' queen. At least she got paid. To her credit, Suzanne was probably worth more than she was getting paid, but her manager husband got greedy. Those studio execs (and media) can make you or break you. Contracts are legally binding documents. Some actors heads get too big. Farrah also broke her contract and received lots of bad media coverage about it, but it worked out much better for her.

Bare in mind, that Kate Jackson did initially make twice what Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith were making, $10,000 a week vs. $5,000. She was probably under the impression that because she looked like a “serious actress” (mousy, flat chested), that she could somehow convince the public that she was a serious actress.

I wonder if Cheryl Ladd has ever been asked or contemplated writing an autobiography/her memoirs. I say this because she along with Jaclyn Smith has the most perspective from working on Charlie's Angels. They are the only two (along with the late David Doyle and to a lesser extent, John Forsythe) to have worked with everybody (Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Shelley Hack, and Tanya Roberts). Cheryl's own personal perspective is even more intriguing because she was literally and figuratively, a rookie.

I'd def buy that book. It doesn't appear that Kate's book will ever get done.
