If they were going to bring Get Smart back, then why didn't they do it much sooner after the 1989 reunion movie came out? I mean, as the old saying goes, why not strike while the iron is hot.

The Rowdy Reviewer argued that 1995, when this incarnation of Get Smart came out, just wasn't the right time to do a spy show. Plots to take over the corporate world just don't resonate as well as plots to literally take over the whole world like in the original show from the '60s.
