Default Ken Levine will never work with Kirstie Alley again

I'm not going to post the entire blog entry because this isn't the Politics forum but here's the gist:
Quote:
"And look, readers of this blog know I've always preferred Diane to Rebecca. Kirstie gave the show new life, but Shelley MADE the show.

And I would work with Shelley Long again in a second. I'll never work with Kirstie Alley again. There you have it, Kirstie. There you have it."

John Ratzenberger and Kelsey Grammer are Republicans also. I am pretty sure John gave at least implicit support to Trump in his first bid for election, saying he liked some of his policies or something like that. There's an article saying Kelsey defended Trump to PBS in 2019. So is that two more people he has to add to his list of people he won't work with? These litmus tests set up around politics are really stupid. People only have two major party candidates to pick from. To say that you supporting one candidate means you support every single thing they say or do is ridiculous. You might just be supporting 51% of it vs 49% for the other guy.

The difference between Ratzenberger/Grammer and Kirstie Alley is Alley’s abhorrent conduct on Twitter. She’s Roseanne lite.

She's not abhorrent in any way, shape or form. She's funny, polite, conversational and reasonable. The difference is, the only conservative the hard left will tolerate is one who shuts up, stays in the closet and never expresses their opinions publicly.

She’s lashed out at people and gotten in a heated Twitter fight or two, usually having to do with politics. Plus her conduct toward people like Leah Remini over her whistleblowing on the cult of Scientology is gross.

Then there was the time she compared the former president’s Twitter ban with slavery.

John Ratzenberger and Kelsey Grammer speak their minds about their political beliefs; the former has appeared on Fox News and Fox Business several times singing his praises of Trump, and the latter has always made his politics known and even co-starred in a conservative A Christmas Carol parody film. Both still get work, because they haven’t burned bridges.

And the difference isn’t that she’s a woman; the difference is she’s mean. Hollywood still loves Patricia Heaton and she’s an avowed conservative.

Just wondering if you find this funny, polite, conversational and reasonable, because again, I find it abhorrent.

Why would you find a prediction abhorrent? She thinks something abhorrent is going to happen in the future. When I hear someone make a prediction about the future that I think is off the mark, I either laugh, call them paranoid, say they're overreacting. But being offended by it doesn't make any sense to me. We've had people predict some presidents were going to turn the country into a dictatorship, cancel the election, or whatever. I might think it's a dumb opinion, but thinking they're a bad person for being mistaken about a prediction doesn't make sense to me.

Kirstie Alley's Twitter feed is full of nonsensical posts that she herself wrote, like this:

This is complete fiction; mass shootings have occurred frequently for well over 100 years.

Kirstie's attacks on former Scientologists is also pretty gross, and her tweets are misleading.

Sitcom Stars Who Need To Realize They Aren't Famous Anymore

Quote:
Kirstie Alley's various failed ventures

Kirstie Alley is best remembered as the glam but hopeless-in-love girlboss Rebecca Howe on "Cheers." Though she appeared to be in control, Rebecca turned out to be messy, making poor choices in both her professional and personal life (her goal was to marry Donald Trump). Alas, Alley's life ended up paralleling Rebecca's, as she struggled to maintain steady work as an actor.

She has attempted to revive her career with numerous ill-fated forays into sitcoms and reality TV (lest we forget "Kirstie Alley's Big Life”), but the '80s darling simply isn't famous anymore. Incidentally, she landed an eponymous sitcom in 2013, which featured similarly lapsed sitcom star Michael Richards. That show was also canceled after one season, per Deadline. Her downfall probably wasn't helped by Alley's frequent public feuds, either. In 2013, the devout Scientologist slammed former Scientologist and erstwhile "Cheers" co-star Leah Remini as a "bigot" for criticizing the controversial religion.

Moreover, she got into hot water over her insensitive comments on Twitter regarding the death of renowned scientist Stephen Hawking, for which she wrote, "You had a good go at it ... thanks for your input," per Page Six. Snopes called the tweet "too absurd to be true, and yet ..." The good news is that Alley's former co-star, Kelsey Grammer, is currently in the midst of rebooting "Frasier." The bad news is Alley allegedly turned down guest spots on the original series due to Scientology's opposition to psychiatry, according to Ranker.

Sounds harsh but Kirstie Alley is old, overweight and a has been. She is most famous for a show that has been off the air the last thirty years. She has been in other stuff since Cheers and should have already made her money, but I suppose that unless you are an "A Lister", you cant afford to retire from Hollywood.
