Question What maligned period/seasons of shows did you still like?

Or even liked more despite the majority considering it that respective show's "dork age"/post-"jump the shark" seasons. This is particularly meant to focus on, shows in their twilight years.

I enjoyed Season 7 of Buffy, despite the fan backlash over the final two seasons. It's one of my favorite seasons, although it's extremely dark. And it's the only season to have won a coveted Hugo Award for its writing. The episode that won the Hugo, "Conversations With Dead People", is both bone-chilling and cerebral... and none of the main cast members actually speak to one another throughout the entire episode.

I have not ever heard of the Hugo Awards.

It is a literary award, rather than an entertainment award, and is for Science Fiction and Fantasy. Buffy won the short-form presentation award that year, and The Lord of the Rings won for the long-form award. Other films and TV series which have won the award have included The Twilight Zone, the Star Trek episode "City on the Edge of Forever", Blade Runner, the original three Star Wars films, The Princess Bride, and Pan's Labyrinth.

When they first started colorizing the old I love Lucy episodes, many were critical of the desecration of a classic. I thought the colorized episodes were great.

And, I've heard some people insist that the black and white era of I Dream of Jeannie is inferior. Although I cannot remember ever seeing the black and whites until years later as re-runs...I have no problem with them.

I LOVED the first four seasons of The Golden Girls. Such great storylines, plots, character development, witt, etc. But once the fifth season came along, I started to notice a steep decline. It was very different, a different technique with plots and storylines, different character personalities, etc. It declined even more by the sixth season with even worse plots and storylines. The humor wasn’t the same either. It was almost like watching Married With Children. Things picked up a bit by the seventh season, but it was never the same. The show never really jumped the shark, but it did decline as the show progressed.

Season 6 of One Day At A Time, which a certain poster here (no names, but it rhymes with Johnny curl) is always putting down

The Office season 8 with James Spader as boss. I was growing a tad tired of Michael Scott by the time he left. The back half of season 8 really perked up with the Florida story-arc. Season 9 was worse with Andy and Jim back-burnered at times to accomidate film projects.

The Ted McGinley years of Happy Days. I found it interesting how they were building a new generation in season 10 with Roger's brother and Howard's niece KC. Fonz was actually maturing with Linda Purl's single mom character. Arnold was also back, although they never addressed what happened to his wife. Season 11 was back to basics and was still okay.

Two and a Half Men became somewhat watchable witj Ashton Kutcher. The humor definitely was more defined and of a more silly nature.

The hour-long 4th season Twilight Zone episodes get a lot of flack along with the 5th season, but I thought many of these were enjoyable.

I like all seasons of M*A*S*H and all seasons of Happy Days. While M*A*S*H was always a great show, it improved when Harry Morgan and Mike Farrell replaced McLean Stevenson and Wayne Rogers. Grace Under Fire season 5 was good, it was too bad Brett Butler's personal misconduct stopped it from lasting longer. Season 1 of Newhart was charming. Leslie is prettier and a whole lot nicer than Stephanie. And I preferred Kirk to Michael. Season 1 of Cheers was great, better than any of the Rebecca years. The final season of Growing Pains was one of its best because of Luke. I liked when Jeannie and Tony got married, would have been nice to get a season 6 for I Dream of Jeannie.

I enjoy the Batgirl season 3 of Batman but it is a whole different, silly show than the breathtakingly classic season 1.

I enjoyed Batgirl too, but mostly for her Batboobs.

Although the first couple of seasons of "The Red Green Show" were kinda hit-&-miss, I still liked them.

One Day At A Time - I liked the later years when Barbara, Julie, and Ann's husbands join the show.

The Jeffersons - Some of my most favorite episodes are featured in the later years of the show. And I love Jessica.

Happy Days - I love the season with Linda Purl's character and her daughter were added to the show. I liked her and Fonzie as a couple.

Love Boat - I missed Julie on the show, but I still loved the later years with her sister Judy.

Laverne and Shirley - I love the move to California.

Good Times - I missed James and hated that he was killed off, but I still enjoyed the show. And I liked the addition of Penny, Keith, and Carl.

Gimme A Break - I enjoyed the later years when Nell and Addy became roommates and moved to New York.

Charlie's Angels - I enjoyed the later years and I'm a fan of all 6 Angels and Bosley.

Three's Company - I still enjoyed the later years with Cindy, Teri and Mr. Furley.

Alice - I still enjoyed the show with Bell and Jolene and when Vera got married.

I Dream of Jeannie - I was so happy when Jeannie and Major Nelson finally got married. In fact, I think the last season is my favorite for that very reason.

Bewitched - I still enjoyed the later years.
