Default Why wasn't Day By Day the most popular NBC sitcom?

When Day By Day aired on NBC I think it could've had a bigger fanbase and so I consider it underrated and had it had more seasons Day By Day would've been more popular. At least Christopher Daniel Barnes made a name for himself by voicing Prince Eric in Disney's The Little Mermaid and now is a huge voice actor for Disney. I think Laff should give Day By Day a chance and add it to their lineup

With only 33 episodes total I doubt LAFF is interested in a show this short lived, maybe Antenna TV would be at some point for their weekend lineup. I have never seen Day by Day but am glad it failed. Otherwise we wouldn't have gotten Julia Louis-Dreyfus on Seinfeld.

I remember Day By Day. The funniest episode was the Brady Bunch parody, which I watched on its original airing. Christopher Daniel Barnes, after this show, went on to play Greg Brady in the first two Brady parody films, so clearly his performance was remembered.

Christopher Daniel Barnes was also the voice of Peter Parker on the Spider-Man animated TV series from the '90s.

Reading on IMDb, it appears that Day by Day may have been somewhat of a casualty of the 1988 writers strike. The strike stretched out into the summer, which caused the fall TV season to be delayed. Unfortunately, many viewers of network television turned away in droves.

Basically, the strike may have hindered Day by Day's ability to start out of the gate much stronger since the audience that otherwise would've been there, wasn't.

This sounds like a good idea for Rewind TV's lineup because Antenna TV's been phasing out their 80s and 90s sitcoms so I doubt they'll be adding anymore in the near future. I'd be interested in seeing it.
