Seffi Kogen, head of young leadership at The American Jewish Committee, tweeted the clip of the Canadian medical drama, which features a Hasidic Jewish patient in need of a bone graft from a deceased donor following an injury. Earlier this week, the Anti-Defamation League denounced SNL for Michael Che's "Weekend Update" joke on Israel's vaccination rollout. NBC has yet to respond to either controversy. NBC pulls Nurses episode accused of being anti-Semitic The Canadian medical drama was accused of anti-Semitism over a scene showing a Hasidic Jewish man refusing a bone graft from a non-Jew. “The writers of this scene check all the boxes of ignorance and pernicious negative stereotypes," the Simon Wiesenthal Center said of the episode. “In one scene, NBC has insulted and demonized religious Jews and Judaism." NBC has opted to pull the episode from digital and future airings. |
