I know that in the credits of Home Improvement, it says "based on the stand-up comedy of Tim Allen". Last Man Standing for better or worse, has an overly political theme compared to Home Improvement.

Too much control probably. It was because of him that Alexandra Krosney got screwed over. While season 1 still isn't on Home Improvement's quality level, it is the closest. I like LMS some, but constant politics on a show, which it also didn't have in season 1, is a turn-off. Even with Kristin recast, the ABC era was still a lot better than the FOX era because Eve got a lot of screen time and they didn't have fake Mandy yet. Now I might as well watch til the end with not much left, but the only highlight really is when Jay Leno appears.

I am amazed that this show has lasted so long. I remember the critics when it first came out didn’t like it, thought it was a Home Improvement clone but with girls now and that was about it. But it has stayed on for years.
I watched the first couple of episodes and never bothered again. I don’t like Tim Allen hat much. However I will say the wife is gorgeous. She is very lucky to have latched on to this sitcom. Supposedly the character and Tim Allen are conservatives which is why it was cancelled on ABC. Don’t know. His original last name was Dick by the way. Can’t blame the man for wanting to change his name. |
