Great stuff! I had forgotten WGN aired Mama's Family, but this was also during the time my cable company carried WWOR instead of WGN (and of course in those days, the superstation was identical to the local feed in both instances).

When Mama's Family went into first-run syndication (1986-1990) it aired on the local ABC station here in Atlanta on Sunday afternoons. But during football season it was frequently preempted and often got pushed back to midnight or later.

That's a very incomplete list of stations that carried MF during it's first-run syndication run. The show was carried by more than 150 stations. It was cleared in something like 90% of the nation's markets, as it was the highest rated weekly half-hour show in syndication all four seasons.

I didn't literally mean that's all of the stations that carried Mama's Family, just the ones that I could find. When I posted it on Wikipedia some editor felt that it was just to remove them.

From 1986 until 2000, WPIX 11 New York reruns for the whole series of Mama's Family.

WTTE-28 in Columbus carried reruns from 1990 through at least 1993 or so, maybe longer. But I vividly remember them showing Mama's Family at 10 p.m. weeknights starting sometime in 1990.
As for who carried Mama's Family in this market when the syndicated episodes were first run, I don't know for sure.

I see a New Jersey station on there, though didn't a New York station carry it? I must have watched it on there or the NJ one; I live in Eastern/Northeastern Pennsylvania. I don't recall if there was a local station that aired it when it was in first-run syndication.

I don't live in New Jersey or New York so I wouldn't absolutely know for sure. But I just assumed that WWOR was and still is for all intents and purposes, considered a New York station, since it primarily serves the New York City area. I mean, they did show the New York Mets games for many, many years. It just so happened to be licensed out of New Jersey.
