I got to see the debut episode of The Chase reboot on Youtube this morning and how on earth ABC got the chance to air The Chase when GSN could've had the chance to revive it with a new season and episodes but how ABC took away that chance from GSN is beyond me. The gameplay is exactly the same as the GSN version and British version of The Chase and it even uses the same sound effects as the UK version which is what the GSN version of The Chase should've been designed with. On Sara Haines as the host of the ABC version of The Chase she does it very well and when you see her host she could be Brooke Burns's twin sister and she could be well on her way to becoming a game show star. With all that aside I also think that this version of The Chase was a way for them to honor Alex Trebek by sticking the Jeopardy champions as Chasers and when the episode began it seemed to be the start of the We Miss Alex Trebek Fan Club by having a tribute to him. On the gameplay itself it was extremely well done and The Cashbuilder round is much improved as well. And the segments with the other Jeopardy champs in the Chaser's Lounge were cute. But the Final Chase is better than the GSN version and I was surprised that the team won and managed to beat Ken Jennings so great. But all and all a solid remake that should do miracles for ABC and make them get high praise and ratings. Hey maybe for Season 2 Mark Labbett should be the Chaser and also add Shaun Wallace and Jenny Ryan as additional Chasers. Would that be cool?

ABC didn't take anything away from GSN. GSN wasn't interested in bringing back The Chase for new episodes/seasons. If it still did well for them in season 4, yet they cancelled anyway, GSN was done with The Chase except for still airing repeats of their version. And ABC airing the new version will also bring a new audience to those who had not heard of the GSN version. Premiere ratings were good, I just hope they remain good and it doesn't tumble.

Hi, Bestie! I am sad they did not use Mark Labett on this new version of The Chase. I am also sad they used Sarah Haines and Ken Jennings. They are too political for me and I will not watch the show because of it. Do you think Game show hosts should hide their political beliefs? I do.

I think Jenny might wanna do it, I don't think Shaun will though and Mark had already accomplished what he did here in the States, so my vote goes to Jenny

Politics were not mentioned at all on the show so I don’t get this. Alec Baldwin’s a very outspoken liberal and he never brings up politics during “Match Game”.

Isn't Mark from England. He may not want to come to USA to do a show for he could be doing something in his native land. I have no problem with a new chaser.

Yes, he's from England and he did the first Chase USA series, that's why I say Jenny Ryan: The Vixen should be the next one from the UK version to come to the States to do the reboot.

Here's an example of how Jenny Ryan could be the perfect British chaser to come do the 2nd US version
