Default Fuller House's Series Finale Was A Massive Disservice to Stephanie

https://screenrant.com/fuller-house-...e-wedding-bad/

Quote:
Fuller House's finale was full of happy moments for the Tanner extended family, but it was still a massive disservice to Stephanie Tanner. Danny's middle-born child moved back home to provide assistance to DJ after she's accidentally widowed with her husband dying on the line of duty as a fireman. The Netflix spin-off eventually gave Stephanie her own arc, which ended with her complete transformation from a global DJ/party girl to a married mom of two.

Instead of Fuller House taking on a different narrative than its parent show, it adapted the premise of Full House with each lead character patterned from their predecessors. DJ's arc mirrored Danny's in a way that both were widowed at a young age left to raise three kids. Kimmy was like Joey, the honorary member of the Tanner family who's quirky. Finally, Stephanie was like Jesse — both started as careless and responsible-free adults who ultimately shifted their priorities and became family-oriented. The problem is, while Full House devoted enough time to Jesse's story, Stephanie's story didn't get as much focus.

Still, Stephanie ended with a husband like DJ and Kimmy. She dated Jimmy Gibbler, the younger brother of Kimmy, which is somewhat surreal considering that she couldn't stand that family from Full House. Despite haphazardly developing their relationship and barely justifying their connection, they ended up getting married at the end of the Fuller House, alongside DJ and Steve, as well as, Kimmy and Fernando. The finale ensured that each couple had their time under the spotlight, with Stephani and Jimmy delivering touching vows. That being said, the focus given on Stephanie during the event wasn't nearly enough as she deserves to have her own wedding ceremony.

Both DJ and Kimmy were okay with having a collective wedding because they'd already had separate ones before. DJ got hitched with Tommy Fuller Sr., the father of her three kids, while Kimmy tied the knot with Fernando before they split up, got back together, and re-engaged. It's also worth noting that the pair have long been best friends, so even without their former experiences, chances are that they would be okay marrying at the same time with each other. Stephanie, on the other hand, has always been the odd one out. Granted that Fuller House attempted to develop her relationship with Kimmy by making her the surrogate mother for Danielle, but their friendship is fairly new and has yet to be really tested with trials and tribulations. Considering Stephanie's initial mindset about having a family and her health problems with regard to getting pregnant, Fuller House should've given her a separate wedding to Jimmy.

On top of this issue, Jesse also had to walk Stephanie down the aisle while Danny gave DJ away. While this was to reflect the parallels between Fuller House and Full House, the spin-off didn't do a great job actually establishing the idea that Stephanie is Jesse's contemporary. And even if they did, they still should've given Stephanie her own wedding because Full House made a big deal out of Jesse tying the knot with Rebecca.
