It didn't last long enough. It was a great show with a really good cast and I thought it did justice to the movie. So why did it end? Anyone know?

It ended because the whole "90s whatever" phase was phasing out.

I was wondering the same thing. Did the show simply "run its course"? I know that for its last two years, it was on UPN, which was of course, a much smaller network than when it was on ABC. But being that Paramount produced Clueless and owned UPN, I would figure that it would've been more willing to give it a chance to succeed (since there was more margin for error).
