Reason I heard more than once why Angie was cancelled - Page 4 - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Angie had the misfortune of moving behind Happy Days the season HD tumbled out of the top 10, to number 17. That certainly didn’t help. ABC really bungled things that year - splitting up the popular HD/Laverne & Shirley block (they were more popular together than apart), and needlessly revamping breakout hit Mork and Mindy and moving it to Sundays. They needlessly revamped Angie too - how incredibly stupid. Mork and Mindy and Laverne & Shirley eventually moved back to their original slots before the season was over, but the damage was done - neither ever ranked in the top 10 again. L&S was the number one show on TV before ABC moved it around. smh

yeah Angie followed Mork and Mindy during its hit season which explained the high ratings

I really liked Debralee Scott and Doris Roberts as supporting players. But the married couple who were the leads were just average. Also, the gorgeous house of the doctor when Angie started out was replaced with a lesser house that was a lot less appealing.

Has Donna Pescow ever talked about “Angie”? I want to know if she thought ABC’s fumbling of the series hurt her career.

She has had a long acting career and still active.
