Default Reason I heard more than once why Angie was cancelled

I heard quite a few times that Angie was doing very well in the ratings. ABC was trying to find the perfect time slot for the sagging ratings of laverne & shirley. Angie ended up moving from different nights and airtimes and the ratings went down due to viewers not knowing when it was on. So it was up to cancelling laverne & shirley or Angie and Gary Marshall had alot of power at abc and so they decided to keep penny marshall's show and cancel angie

I don't think that was it because Garry Marshall was also the producer of Angie. They made too many changes during season 2 and they just lost their audience. I loved season 1.

It was getting low ratings because ABC treated the show like dirt.

Yeah ABC played musical timeslots with Angie in season 2

Tuesdays at 8:30pm, then Mondays at 8:30pm, then Saturdays at 8pm and then back to it's original slot at 8:30pm on Thursdays which was TOO LATE by that time.

There's a great book on all those classic Paramount shows I'm reading now and it mentions why Angie was canceled.

You keep books a secret too like you do rare tv shows? I would have thought you would have just mentioned the name of the book

No secret, I was just too lazy to look up the title:

Happier Days: Paramount Television's Classic Sitcoms 1974-1984
