TV "Happy Days" Stars Reunite for Wisconsin Democratic Fundraiser

"Happy Days" Stars Reunite for Wisconsin Democratic Fundraiser
by Sharareh Drury
10/19/20

Henry Winkler's Fonzie will reunite with his "Happy Days" cast this Sunday to raise funds for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin — home state of the iconic sitcom.

Joined by Ron Howard (Richie Cunningham), Don Most (Ralph Malph), Anson Williams (Potsie Weber), Marion Ross (Marion Cunningham), as well as writer Lowell Ganz plus a few special guests, the event will be available for a minimum donation of $1, with all proceeds aiding Joe Biden's campaign in the key battleground state.

"We’re thrilled a show made famous in Milwaukee is coming back home to help make Donald Trump a one-term President," said Ben Wikler, Chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.

"We know all roads to the White House go through the Badger State, and with the cast of ‘Happy Days’ helping us raise money to take back the White House, we believe even more we can deliver a victory on November 3rd."

Scott Baio BLASTS Happy Days reunion to benefit Wisconsin Democrats as 'shameful'... and calls John Stamos 'desperate' for asking to play Chachi

Scott Baio slams the Happy Days cast for Democratic fundraiser and John Stamos for asking to play Chachi

The vocal Trump supporter reacted to the news that Ron Howard was leading a fundraiser for the Wisconsin Democratic Party by tweeting: “What a shame to use a classic show like Happy Days about Americana to promote an anti-American socialist," he tweeted. Baio also went after Stamos for asking if he could play Chachi. “Shouldn’t he be taking care of Aunt Becky,” Baio said, referring to Lori Loughlin's college cheating scandal.

I think Scott Baio is on the outs from his fellow cast members, not because of politics. But because of his behavior in the days after Erin Moran's death.

Pretty much all of the surviving cast members, except for Baio will be there. Not that I would ever miss seeing Baio at anything. Didn't like the character not the actor. Both were arrogant and immature.

Baio isn’t there because he’s a conservative. Who knows if that is part of the reason the cast won’t speak to him, or if it’s more the Erin Moran comments.

Scott Baio appears to be on the outs with all of his cast members, from multiple series: he doesn't speak to his Happy Days fellow cast members, not to his Charles in Charge cast members, and dissed his Joannie Loves Chachi co-star, Erin Moran. Now he's disrespecting the Full House cast?! You can be opinionated, but he often takes things too far. He's a trainwreck, at this point.

I am siding with SCOTT BAIO concerning this particular issue.

Fellow television actor and Republican voter DEAN CAIN said it best :

"I LOVED HAPPY DAYS. IN FACT, ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHOWS GROWING UP.
THIS RECENT NEWS ( politicized cast reunion as Democratic Party fundraiser ). NOT SO MUCH.

A STAGED READING OF THE SHOW TO SUPPORT A POLITICAL CANDIDATE OR PARTY
IS MUCH DIFFERENT THAN A PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL SPEAKING OUT."

Another fan also posted her own disapproval :

YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO SUPPORT ANY CANDIDATE ON A PERSONAL LEVEL.
ONCE IT BECOMES A FUNDRAISER, LIKE THE HAMILTON CAST IS DOING,
YOU ALIENATE HALF YOUR AUDIENCE."
( GemsCrystalsandWine )

P.S. Please be very careful whom you label a "trainwreck" around here.
Based on what I've heard and read, Scott is still on good terms with
his castmates from Happy Days. This is a matter of principle.
It also may have some connection to TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.
Desperate Democrats will do anything and everything to help Joe Biden and Kamala Harris win.

Many other sources said that Scott is on the outs with his Happy Days castmates. We know he has had problems with his young female costars, specifically Erin Moran and the girl on Charles in Charge who said Scott molested her when she was a minor. Scott Baio is a creature, not a human. What he said and did after Erin Moran's death is inexcusable.

Could be, but the main reason he's not there is that he's a drumpf supporter and a conservative.

He is also, from what I understand, accused by Charles In Charge co-star Nicole Eggert of sexual harrassment.

You'll notice he wasn't included on the recent Garry Marshall documentary and it's been surmised that they didn't want him there because of the sexual harassment allegations.

Baio had a reunion somewhat recently with most of the Charles in Charge cast, minus Eggert and the other guy for obvious reasons. He seemed especially happy to see Willie Aames again. How much of this is actually true, only he and they know.

Baio jumped the gun about Erin Moran, but to be fair, many did indeed speculate it was drugs at first, myself being one of them. He phrased his message poorly to say the least, I think we all agree on that. I can’t recall if he ever apologized. I know he did share some memories of Moran later on, but I don’t recall him ever saying he was worry. Perhaps I missed it.

It’s been said for years being a conservative in Hollywood is a death wish. I think you can’t discount that being part of the reason Baio isn’t doing much these days. His attitude at times is another, however many others with worse have found work.

I live in Wisconsin and watched it. Wonderful, almost 2 and a half hours long. Sadly at the beginning Henry revealed Marion Ross was not feeling well today so was not there. She was part of the rehearsal a couple of days ago and was doing great than. Hopefully she is ok.

I will say this - all the cast said they have fond memories of Scott and that he is entitled to his own opinions. They said nothing bad about him at all. Ron and Henry both said they were happy to have him on Arrested Development.

They read the first 2 episodes of Season 3. When the show started filming in front of a live studio audience. When Fonzie moves in and when Ralph accidentally destroyed his motorcycle. Which makes sense. That was when the show really grew in popularity. Also when the cast was still just the core group. As they explained this was before Arnold, Al, and yes Chachi ever appeared on the show. So it was no slight at Scott, no recasting.

It was really great and really enjoyed the Q & A afterwards. Of course Chachi was nowhere to be found! LOL

I was at the ceremony in Milwaukee when the Fonz statue was unveiled. Meet everyone from, the cast in attendance. Ron was not there because he was filming the Da Vinci Code in Italy. But he did a video tribute that played on the Jumbotron before the Brewers game that day.

So it was great to learn last night at some point after that he discreetly got his own picture with the statue! Sounds like he was town as a tourist and did not want attention. Mentioned driving up to Door County. Which was awesome my Grandmather lived up there.
