I have seen a few episodes on DECADES and found the show a bit flat. Not enough suspense for me.

Drool OK, here's what we do, Ah Ha, here's what I'll Do, Ah Ha here's what I'll Do

The good news just recently Season 1 of this series became available commercially. Though there aren't a lot of episodes in season 1, I hope the rest of the series will be released too. I'd like to buy a Complete Series set of this.

OK, back to the question, I find this show quite funny. It is played broad and overboard even. This is one of those shows played strictly for laughs and classic laughs at that. Like Sgt. Bilko or Car 54, it's all out played for laughs, not in the least a "dramedy". I like this show and especially like the old bag who plays Margie's apt. neighbor, she reminds me of Stan Laurel when she talks, the same mannerisms.

As to this TV series reminding someone above like comedy film shorts, it's interesting that comment, because this series was filmed on the "Lotta Fun" that's the Hal Roach Studios where Laurel & Hardy and Little Rascals were filmed years earlier.

Now, to me the only negative about this series is they seem to re-do the same plot technique over and over again, this is how it goes in most all of the episodes. Margie wants something, pulls an elaborate trick on her father to get it, Father then discovers the trick she's pulling and pulls a counter-trick on Margie who then discovers his counter-trick and pulls a counter-trick to teach him. By this time the 1/2 hour is over and no more tricks are played till the next episode. Now the idea of pulling a trick is good once in a while or even several times but the trick-counter-trick-counter counter trick really was just way too much esp. when repeated episode after episode. I still would like to see this whole series, it is funny once you get over the same plot tricks ploy in every episode.

I haven’t seen an episode in roughly 20 years, when it aired on the now defunct AIN (which was mainly seen on low power over the air stations, in case you’d never heard of it). I don’t recall much about it, so it didn’t leave an impression unlike I Married Joan and Private Secretary (Susie).
